New York trades:
SG Allan Houston (11.8 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 2.1 apg in 26.6 minutes)
PF Mike Sweetney (7.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 0.5 apg in 17.0 minutes)
Draft Pick

New York receives:
PF Chris Webber (21.4 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 5.0 apg in 35.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +1.7 ppg, +3.6 rpg, and +2.4 apg.

Sacramento trades:
PF Chris Webber (21.4 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 5.0 apg in 35.6 minutes)

Sacramento receives:
SG Allan Houston (11.8 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 2.1 apg in 26.6 minutes)
PF Mike Sweetney (7.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 0.5 apg in 17.0 minutes)
Draft Pick
Change in team outlook: -1.7 ppg, -3.6 rpg, and -2.4 apg.

The trade was approved by the trade checker (realgm.com) and would work out for both teams. Knicks would get a big man with offensive ability that attracts attention and the Kings get a pick, Sweetney (who is a good scorer, not as good as weber) and Houston, who is currently injured and is hoping to make a comeback. This would make Sacremento and NY both contenders, whether it is this year or next.

they can't make that trade until draft day because they already traded their 1st rounder last year to get Marbury...so they'd have to trade the rights to the player they draft this year.

if the Knicks end up in the lottery, i don't think it's worth the risk to give up both the player they select in the 1st round along with a former lottery pick in Sweetney & take on all of Webber's remaining contract along w/the risk of injury...i would gladly give up Sweetney to get Webber if it meant getting rid of Allan Houston's contract too however, but i don't see SAC making that trade to be honest.

Sac gets a gimp, a nice forward, and a lotto pick for Webber.

Hell no!

Clearly, Webber is much better than Sweetney right, but if we all must insist on making up Webber trades, I don't give Sweets up in any of them.
Is Webber going to help bring us a championship anytime soon? With his knees, I can't keep myself from wondering how much longer he will be in this league. He's looked good, but with every hit, you just have to ask, "Is this the one?"
I think Sweetney could be an important piece to the puzzle on this team.

Once again, I would do anything within my power to keep Webber off this team, but if we must go through these scenarios, I don't give up Ariza, Sweetney, or any 1st rounders. In fact, I wouldn't give up much more than expiring contracts and/or Kurt, and I know Sacramento would demand more.

NO! I wouldn't give up Sweetney OR a 1st round pick for Webber and definitely not both. The only player I'd trade for him is Houston or maybe Penny or TT. I'm very low on guys in their 30s with huge long-term contracts with severe knee problems.

No thanks. It's time to build a team from the bottom up.

I'm one of the biggest Cwebb fans but the Knicks are better off if they try and aqquire Kwame Brown. Whether it means a draft pick here or a bad contract there, the Knicks must take a chance on Brown.
