full court press to sign Swift, hes unrestricted, meaning only 4 clubs have more than the MLE to spend on him. he can play 4-5, block shots and is just coming into his prime. If you look what signed for 6 years 40mm this year Stromile is an easy choice. I kind of wanted to split it over two young guys like hunter and watson, but I think if we have any chance to get stromile for the full, we should do it.

if he would accept the full MLE, sure. I don't think he'd take that. I think he wants more. I'd offer Nazr in a sign and trade, then we could sign Swift to a deal starting at 5.5million or so.

I'd offer part or most of the MLE to Hunter from Phoenix. I'd be nice to get both.

Yeah, if Stro would accept the MLE, I'd do the deal. But I'm not drooling over him

at 5mm per--I dont see a better player we can use it on for what we need. I think hes a clear choice there, a guy who can block shots, get out on the break, is able to play both 4-5, a guy who would bring tremendous athletiscm to a frontcourt that needs some badly. hes young--only 24 and another major factor--UNRESTRICTED FA--thats a big point because there is no barrier to sign him, unlike most FA. using the MLE on a player like Swift is a solid choice--think about the players who received mLEs this year and compare to Swift--we want guys who are young, that can fit in with marbury and I think Swift can bring a lot to what we dont have. If we brought in Bogut+ Swift and moved Thomas and Nazr for picks and or young promising 1-2-3s, it would be a huge step.
I accept that KT has to go, I think that Isiah knows this and his value is reasonable, Nazr's value is also reasonable to bring back things we need. I dont see either Nazr or KT as pieces to the puzzle, but I think they can help other teams

Why can only four teams spend more than the MLE on him? Is it because you're saying only four will be under the salary cap?

who would you rather have Curry who scores 16 and grabs 1 rebound. Thats 1 freakin rebound folks!

or tyson chandler who is 7'1'' plays defense, rebounds and blocks shots.

oh, I absolutely believe Swift should be one of the MAIN focuses of the off season. He's exactly what we need. I just don't think he'll sign for that LITTLE. I know Atlanta is interested. Memphis is rumored to want to keep him BADLY. So, he may get offers for more than the MLE. That's why I think it might be in our best interest to offer Nazr for Stro, so Memphis gets something out of it and Stro can get a little over the MLE like Jamal did.

For the record, on the right team, I think Stromile will have an absolute break out season. I like him quite a bit. I think he'd be perfect for Marbury. He needs to develop a J. (thank god Ariza is working on his J).

i don't think the knicks will get either, but I would rather have Chandler, especially is Sweets is around. They would make a tandem.

im not wasting space on chandler or curry because there is NO way in hll chicago wouldnt cover an mle, and thats all we can do. I expect they will both get higher $ anyway.
5mm per on Swift is a good deal. I think hes the type of player that Marbury can make much better. there is no guy out there that we can get that is better than Swift.

Out of the three players mentioned, I'd have to give a lot of thought to whether I wanted to add Chandler or Curry first, but I'd definitely rank Stro third.

we can get Camby for cheap. Nene has been playing great. Denver wants to trade Marcus and Zeke drafted him. Memphis will give swift more than the MLE if they have to

I WANT SWIFT.

If you think that we could sign Curry or Chandler, or that Isiah could swing a deal with CHI for them, you are high.

I want Swift & Bogut real bad and I hope for the best for this team, but I'm also realistic enough to expect that we may not have any breakthrough signing/trades.

Its bad when Camby starts looking good. Zeke drafted him once, why would he want to make the same mistake twice. Y'all don't remember why we wanted camby out do you? He had his Gazy-ness inconsistancy and was always hurt. He is older, more fragile, and has a big contract. That is why they want to rid of him.

I really don't see that camby was a great pick. He had high expectations coming out of college, was picked very very high, and has not proven himself. I thought him for Oak was a foward thinking risk and was ok with it, but it did not work except for the strike short season when we made our playoff run.

Id' say Damon Staudamire was also not such a great pick. He also was a big pick, and while certainly no bust, he has not lived up to his contract. T-mac was high school project taken mid round and took 3 years to mature. Isiah was gone when T-mac bolted for Florida.

Isiah's track record is not terrible, just a bit overrated. Anything in indiana was done with Donnie Walsh. I sure Isiah had some input on that roster, but he was not the GM.

Im not hating on Isiah, jsut don't see that we should take camby on cuz he drafted him once, or he grew up in chicago, or his mother has a picture of Isiah on her dresser, or any indiana connection, or any detroit connnection, etc. Give us the right players for the right reasons!

i have been on the Swift bandwagon for 2 years now. He is a shot blocking rebounder who can score off put backs and slashes to the rim.

He would be great for the new NY KNICKS.

Trade KT or Baker and a future #1 for Swift...use the MLE on Hunter or Gadzuric, draft Taft......

Hunter/Taft
Sweetney/Swift
Ariza/JYD
Crawford/?
Marbury/Brewer
~You can't run from who you are.~
Im pretty much set sure who we should go after with the full MLE-SWIFT
