NY gets a starting 3 who can hit the 3, bang the open jumper, play good defense, and in general make good decisions while he is out on the floor. Something NY could use more of when the ball isn't in Marbury's hands. He has a long contract, but its for around the MLE. Shane is a solid player, with good fundamental skills that never go out of style. Plus he is an excellent defender to go along with his offense. Steph would get him alot of open looks.
Memphis gets rid of a swingman, they have like 4 good ones already. His contract was long and Vinnie's is done next year.
2 things: 1. I know Shane isn't Zekes style of player (he seems to like guys with street crediility) but I think he would fit nicely into the mix whether we run or play half court. And once again, he plays D. Good role model for ariza too.
2. He has 6 years on his contract. But like I said his game never goes out of style and it is for little money. Its like half of the mle. This kind of money isn't gonna change our cap situation one way or the other.
