I think question 7 is the most telling.

It's a good thing they don't use polls from casual fans to determine who wins each game and each championship. I'm sure Pistons fans agree too.

I wish they did...I think we could get enough Knick fans spamming those polls to bring in a couple rings.

Actually, I think questions 2 and 3 are the most telling.

thats Isles in a nutshell. Its easy to take one angle, but that angle only applies when when he feels like it. God forbid Isiah gave a 6 year deal to Brian Cardinal, or used 2 first rounders on Troy Bell and Dahntey Jones

Based on West's track record I'd have to say at least 1.

That's me in a nutshell? Excuse me?

yes... thats you. Pretty much every knock you have on Isiah, or guys he brings in only apply to them, not to others you think more highly of in the NBA.

Back to the other note... any time frame on when West is going to get Memphis that title? in the next 2-3 years or more?

Actually I think I'm pretty consistent. Although I do admit that I try not to generalize to match every situation but rather take things on a case by case basis.

Like your Jerry West question. West has a much better track record when it comes to building championship caliber teams than Isiah, don't you agree? His team also plays in the West which makes it that much tougher to get through 3 rounds of the playoffs as opposed to the Knicks who play in a pathetic division and weaker conference, don't you agree? Or maybe I should have just pretended that everything is equal so you could say that I'm being unfair.

first of all Isiah was only GM in one other place. Did he win titles? No, but it was an expansion team and he performed well signing good players, drafting very well and getting that franchise off to a good start.

The point is all GMs, even the one universally considered best mistakes. Did Wesy build title teams? Yes.. the showtime Lakers were unreal, but if Shaq doesnt pack his bags for LA the day he's a FA it stops there. Unless you have for gotten about an 8 year stretch of Cedric Ceballos and Nick Van Exel and a lot of early exits.

I can only imagine your reaction if Isiah's big FA aquisition was Brian Cardinal instead of resign Swift, or his best draft was Dahntay Jones and Troy Bell.

But no... you have no double standard at all.

So if people say Isiah wont win a title here its "see I told ya" but as West plods along its the West is tough and his division is tough.

To bad Isiah didnt take over a roster with Gasol, Swift, some nice young players and a reasonably priced roster.

Memphis was considered a lost team when West hit it. Swift is not important to that team, and Gasol was questionable. West took what was there and took some risks too. They are still a work in progress, but one on the upswing.

Isiah has his dark side, and today its raining upon him. But thats the media, thats NY. THEy can make you, and take it away.

Isiah has a MAJOR nasty ugly side, AND he's made mistakes since he's been here. My point ALL ALONG is ANY GM that takes over needs 2-3 years to execute some kind of plan. Is Isiah Jerry West? God no... my only point was West has made pleny of mistakes along the way, every GM does. But you look at a body of work over a long period of time to evaluate GMs, not 12 months of activity.

LOL.

West won championships because Shaq wanted to go to LA and there huge market. Without Shaq the most dominate player in the NBA there is no championship. Joe Dumars probably deserves the most credit for gm skills. Since he did it by adding B.Wallace for Hill, Rip for Stackhouse, Signing Billups, drafting Prince, and getting lucky with Rasheed Wallace. If Zeke drafted Milcic over Carmelo Anthony though he would have never herd the end of it.

I give Isiah credit for taking the Knicks GM job. I mean the salary cap mess & roster mess he took when he took the position. Plus the demanding fans and media. I wonder if Isiah was the first choice or if many others turned down the offer. I know they went after West when he was avaialbe but he wanted to go to a situation with cap space and flexabile contracts & young players so he choose Memphis.
