You got me laughing. But the sad thing is you are right! The problems with this team is bigger than Lenny! Welcome Herb Williams.

i feel bad for his mother[although she must be up there is he 67]

as for feeling bad for lenny, the guy just juiced nearly 20mm$ from the knicks for a year

feel sorry for the dude with a bad back working on the docks with high blood pressure trying to feed his kids, feeling bad for lenny is absurd

actually what stephen a. smith just said is that lenny himself went to brass after the game and told them he will resign tomorrow. knicks management told him to sleep on it and make his choice in the morning. stephen a. also said that lenny's mother was ill.

i'm not sure if this was spin control or what BUT this is not lenny's fault. all those that wanted him gone looks like they got his wish. now, when they lose 9 of the next 10, who do you blame then?

this is now a built in excuse for the knicks. if they lose, they can simply say we switched coaches and we need a full training camp or whatever.

if the story is true and lenny did approach management, then he gets even more respect from me. he may be old, the game may have passed him by, but the fault here is of the players.

if lenny re-signs, he doesn't get the $$ for the rest of the deal.

But he would if he "resigned" because Isiah wanted him to as a matter of spin control in exchange for full payment of his contract. You honestly believe that he gave up $8M? If you do I have a bridge to sell you. NYK3 already put a down payment for it but I can sell it to you too.

Let's see what this change will bring to the team...

Do you think the reason this team sucks is the coaching? Lenny no longer is "with it" clearly, and it's fine that he is resigning. I mean he's so old he probably had to take naps during half-time, and that's gotta be the reason why the team played like they don't care in every 3rd qtr.

But who was the guy that hired Lenny and put together the team??? Do you think Isiah listened to Lenny when he acquired players? Nah...

Whoever is going to take over as the head coach, I'd like to see if he can make this team play better defense with pride & heart. Could he be Isiah??????

word? i always wanted a bridge...

who knows what's going on but despite what anybody says, it looks like you already made up your mind as to what happened anyway so it's pointless.

i think he'll get his $$$ for this season and that's it.

Either way, it was a classy move by whoever threw the final gauntlet... at least this was handled better than the whole Chaney situation.

Lenny probably wanted to finish with a winning record, and knew the upcoming schedule =P

I doubt Isiah wanted this at THIS stage of the season, esp when the next few games will be rough

Now who's gonna teach and groom our guards?

If Herb is willing to play Sweetney more and Kurt less and discipline Crawford by taking him out when he takes bad shots, then this will be a wonderful move for the Knicks in the long-term.

I've a lot of faith in this guy. herb is a hardworking guy, who won't like to see his players to not bust their butts.

question will be, will he be respected enough because of his lame-duck status (the phil jackson affair...) ?

Last second wins and losses as well as blow out wins and losses are on the coach.

Not to call time out last night was absurb (they had 3 or 4 I believe)

While you can say that lenny was the fall guy, HE IS THE COACH. They should be winning not losing.

THE COACH PREPARES THE TEAM...THE TEAM RESPONDS TO THE COACH.

We can either fire lenny, or make one your preposterous trades sending players out of town that ARE producing for Lenny.

Maybe TT will come out of his slump. Maybe Craw will take better shots. Maybe Houston will stay in a suit the rest of the season.

One thing for sure, I've noticed no GROWTH from this team over the course of the season. Last night's game was awesome, but it still didn't seem like they were being coached as much as just playing good basketball.

I want to see the best player keyed on. I want to see hard fouls. And I want to see players going to the line (forcing the issue).

Most of all...I wanted to see this change come, because I loved the knicks and after last night, I think I was about to call it a season.

now I'm not.

WOW! No more Lenny? I thought they would atleast let him coach the year out. Well, now we have the winningest coach of all time. I think Herb has the best best winning % of any coach. Hopefully he does well.

this means doodoo to me, but hey, maybe they win the rest of their games, after all Herb is perfect as the KNick coach.

One question for all you "losses are the coaches fault" people. At what point does Lenny take responsibility for "the best PG in the game" holding the ball then passing it to a covered Crawford with 1.8 seconds left on the shot clock?

Lets be real. If the Knicks rally around Herb great, but what I really want to see is more Sweetney, especially at center. He stays out of foul trouble there, gets to the line and camps out under the basket. He also works the glass. The height doesnt bother me.. Nazr or KT arent changing guys shots anyway
