I saw on ESPN that the Blazers released Qyntel Woods. What do you all think about the Knicks taking a chance on the guy. I know he's got a bad rapsheet but when he came to the NBA straight out of HighSchool the absolute WORST place he could have gone was the Blazers. I think Isiah should take a chance on the guy, he's only 23 has good size at 6'8 220 pounds. What do you think?

I saw him play summer league and he was nice.....Portland has a way of doing things over there....Maybe ownership has something to say in who gets playing time.....

Woods is a loony toon though.....he's done alot of real idiotic things since he's been in the league.

Talent is talent and the Knicks should give him a call.....Too bad with Houston here and the possibility of Isiah making a trade for another swingman......Woods probably would turn the Knicks down.

I thought at one point Qyntel Woods could be a poor mans Tracy McGrady. He has the tools on the offensive end... Mentally, I dunno. I think its a wrap for him!

It seems like he can't get it together, and honestly I really can't see him fitting here in NY anyway. I'd rather have Jalen. At least he is a proven player, that can start and contribute immediately; although he is older and overpaid.

Taking a chance on Qyntel could backfire. Qyntel might just spazz out and hit Harlem for that dro. (Yall kno what I'm talmbout!) lol

I liked him a lot coming out of Junior College. He is a loon though. Wasn't he involved in dog fighting? Sign him and trade TT asap. Trade him for a Junior Mint.

Ideally, we could sign him for a 10 day contract and see what he gives us. He might turn that down, though. I'd give him a guaranteed contract for around $750K if necessary for the rest of the year and just waive him if it didn't work out. (That's only pocket change anyway.)

bring him in...we could definitely use some insurance in case Houston needs to go back on the IR, which looks very likely

The Portland Trail Blazers waived forward Qyntel Woods on Friday, the same day the player pleaded guilty to abusing his pit bull.

Woods, 23, appeared in court to enter the misdemeanor plea, part of an agreement after an investigation into allegations of dog fighting. He was sentenced to 12 months of probation and 80 hours of community service.

"In light of today's developments, it is clear that the Trail Blazers and Qyntel Woods must part ways," Trail Blazers president Steve Patterson said in a statement. "We are confident that this action is both justified and appropriate."

Woods' attorney Stephen Houze made a brief statement in court that acknowledged the player had not taken proper care of his pit bull but did not mention dog fighting.

"I've tried to be a responsible pet owner all my life. Because of that, I am very sorry and saddened that my dog, Hollywood, was injured," Woods said in the statement read by his attorney. "I also deeply regret the concern this has caused other pet owners and citizens in our community."

Woods had faced a more serious charge of dog fighting, a felony in Oregon. Promoting or conducting dog fighting is punishable by up to $100,000 in fines and up to five years in jail.

The Trail Blazers suspended Woods indefinitely without pay Oct. 12. He was in the final year of a three-year contract that would have paid him $1.1 million.

I'd rather have Qyntel than Jalen. Give him a ten-day make-good contract.

its not about getting Jalan it's about getting Marshall and Jalen. I would like Woods but he doesn't solve the fact that we need a bigman to move Kurt out the way

I actually like the Minn/Tor/NYK three-way proposed. If we can get Donyell and Jalen, I'll be happy, because we'll win the division easily this year. They have to bench Tim to the nether regions of hell if that trade goes down though. I just don't think that trade is the right idea. But, its not like the Knicks are ever going to be able to plan for the future with Berman, Isola, Vecsey and Mike & the Mad Dog in town.

I'd still rather have Qyntel than Jalen. Young, cheap talent as opposed to old, expensive declining talent.

These are all compromise players. Fans are very desperate to clutch onto any hope that the aformetioned players can help us turn it around.

Q: Who let the dogs out?

Im sure the pot smoking and lack of performance had somthing to do with it.

I really don't think our chemistry would be helped by bringing in another low charactor kind of guy to this team.

What are we:" bring us your soft, convicted, overweight, chemically depended, underachieveing, and your overpaid! That Ellis Island gig don't apply to the Knicks!

No more S-hi-t heads! Please!

How can someone ask about the knicks acquring Q. woods, wouldn't that steal time from from developing ARIZA?
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

no, because Q is a SG & Ariza is a SF...we could use the insurance at the backup SG spot...Houston is hobbling around on 1 knee as it is.

Players on other teams are mysteriously attractive to fans of teams currently underachieving!

Acutally if we let Q live with TT, and he treats TT like his dogs, he can save TT's career.

It'd be nice if the Knicks signed him and he developed into a player then they could trade either him or Ariza depending on which one they wanted to keep.

I agree with all you guys, Woods has barely been in the league and is already known to have done some stupid things, but if dog fighting is bad then Briggs is right, he looks like a angel compared to Jason Kidd. Give the guy a contract for the rest of the year and see how he pans out, if he hasn't matured at all then we'll part ways at the end of the year. WE HAVE TO START LOOKING TOWARDS THE FUTURE
