we are a team with no identity. and we can't play no defense. but as i look around the league, alot of teams don't play defense either (boston, orlando, seattle) and have better records than us. they play to outscore. maybe we adapt that philosophy for the rest of the season.

now, usually teams that do play that style have frontcourt players that can rebound, outlet, and run. that's something we don't have. but what if we let kurt/nazr/jyd/sweets rotate at center and just crash the boards and playing marbury, crawford, ariza, and tim at the 1-4?

i know, i know, tim at the 4? (where have i heard that before) but maybe we just need to change things up a little bit. i'm not saying right now, but if we continue to lose like this, we either move sweets into the starting lineup or we change the style of play to try to build some sort of identity. crawford would excel in that situation, as will ariza. i'm sure marbury will also but tim is the X-factor. his doodoo-ness is unparalleled. we probably don't have the talent to play that style and we'd probably get blown out alot more but like others have said, we should establish a style of play and bring people in to play it.

I really don't understand wy haven't seen Tim playing the 4 at all this season.. He's freaking 6'10", 240lbs!! That IS a PF's body.. We already know he can't guard anything out on the perimeter, so why not try him in the post? Move Sweetney to C, start Houston or Ariza and go from there. Kurt would be a perfect 6th man and can stay out of foul trouble. Our second unit sux on offense because all we have is Houston taking jumpers. Sweetney just isn't getting the PT or the touches.

Tim playing the 4 can create some mismatches, especially when he attacks from the outside.

You know, I remember the days when Kurt used to post up quite effectively... those were the days

Looking at the team, we would be great for a running game. We just need more defenders like JYD and Ariza if we're going to be able to get out on the fast break.

to be a great running team, you need players that finish strong. tim doesn't do that and sweetney is still 20 lbs overweight. and we know about kurt and heel to toe nazr. (watch him run)

but i think it's more important to establish some sort of identity and seeing how the league is evolving into a run it up and don't give a F attitude, maybe we should start moving that way. we have the backcourt to play like that.

like i said, i don't think we have the personnel but if this keeps up, we'll need to try something different, even if it's just a simple swap of sweets for kurt.

thats my second biggest problem with him (first, of course is him being 6-10 and hardly gets any rebounds) geez i mean come on he gets to the basket and goes up like such a p.ussy I CANT STAND THAT, GO UP STRONG. He's afraid of contact. ITS SO FRUSTRATING WATCHING HIM PLAY. I would give anything to have his height and ability, and he's just wasting it away, SUCH A SHAME
I wasn't born with enough middle fingers!!!

Uh, they say that TT is supposed to create mismatches at the 3...

I say put Sweetney, Nazr and Ariza out front with Crawford and Marbury- then insert KT, Houston & JYD as necessary. TT???

I was labeled "crazy" when I suggested that early in the season. This Knicks team will never have an identity until Kurt is out of our lineup. The problem is that Lenny doesn't have the balls to make the decision to bring Kurt off of the bench.

Marb
Crawf
JYD
TT
Nazr

or
Marb
Crawf
TT
Sweetney
Nazr

is more than enough to cause problems...
