He actually made a great point. There is no way the Knicks are hiring a new coach now that the next 10 games are ridiculously tough. Why would you bring a new coach into this situation? My guess is that Lenny will be fired after this stretch but then we'll definitely be a lottery team. Which isn't such a bad thing. They are saying Phil would never want to coach the Knicks. What they fail to realize is that either isiah or an assitant can finish out the year and then Isiah can make some moves either before the deadline or in the off-season that would make Phil Jackson or even Larry Brown who said he wants to finish his career in NY come coach the Knicks.

my favorite mike and the mad dog moment ever was when they had Layden on in December 03, a few weeks before he was fired. Mike was trying to ask real questions about the team and Layden kept saying he liked his players, he liked the team - mad dog got fed up and just started screaming "why scottie, why? why would trade for mcdyess, why trade spree for van horn? why why why? why, scottie, why?" classic.

the layden interviews were hall of famers

do anyone remember one of the last interviews he did when they were drilling him about van horn and sprewell and they kept asking him question after question and the only thing he could do was say,

"uh"

and mike and mad dog roared with laughter

those were the good times

Layden had 2 reponses to any question he was asked by ANY media member, you had a 50/50 shot at getting it right. "I really like our players and team makeup" OR "I can not comment on any players that are not on the Knicks." The guy was a drone.

talking knicks again. they said there's no way Isiah will hire Phil because then Isiah would not be the main guy in NY. I'm not gonna believe that until i see it. I think winning a championship means more to isiah and his reputation than his ego
