Jan. 20 - Insider Chad Ford reports: According to sources, Knicks president Isiah Thomas wants to send Hardaway and Kurt Thomas to the Raptors for Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall That probably isn't going to happen in that format, at least. The Raptors might be willing to swap Rose straight up for Hardaway, but including Marshall in a deal that gets them back Thomas' bad long-term salary
probably won't work.

While Thomas could solve some of the problems the team has at center, his contract is too rich for the Raptors' blood. Earlier this month, TNT reported a Rose-for-Hardaway trade but Raptors GM Rob Babcock told the Jan. 14 Toronto Globe and Mail, "There is no truth to it whatsoever." Previous reports out of New York differed over whether Hardaway wants to be traded. Isiah Thomas has denied he
is shopping Hardaway, whose playing time has diminished in the Knicks' guard-heavy rotation.

Who made up this rumor? Toronto is happy with the team they have and are getting themselves in position to take over the ALANTIC DIV.
And at the same time pick up some great picks fron NJ NETS.

The team has made 10 3pointers their last 3 games, this team has chemistry as is, stop trying to sell papers this trade will never go down.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

getting just Rose doesn't help us at all. but getting either Donyell or better yet a first round pick makes it a no brainer so that we can draft a big man and hope he's the next Amare. if KT doesn't get the deal done then I would give them Nazr or TT whatever

how about Rose + their unprotected #1 for TT + $3mm and Houston's #2. I will do that. They can save themselves about almost $20mm.

Seem silly? now your catching on :)

isiah's single biggest mistake he's made since he's been Knicks GM is signing KT to this contract extension that includes the trade kicker that bumps his salary up 20% if he's dealt to another team...w/o that contract, he'd be a very valuable commodity right now.

And if there was truth to the Frank Williams for Darius Miles rumor way back that was his 2nd biggest mistake.

Marshall's contract is up this year, no?

Wonder if they will let him walk or trade him.

wait a second? we have the Rockets first round pick this year because of the spoon-moochie trade?!!! the thought of that really excites me because it gives us a lot of options!

I looked and looked and came up with a few things:

One of the Knicks president's most tradable commodities is Kurt Thomas, who makes US$5.4 million but has a 15 percent trade kicker in the contract extension he signed last spring.

Also when you try to trade KT on realGM he's got a trade kicker.

Rose is a very good player.....

I just don't understand why you are so blazay on the deal.....if Toronto makes a deal involving Rose and Penny.....that would be highway robbery.

Rose right away Rose would be the starting small fwd and the Knicks would be 50 times better. Rose can do alot of things with the basketball. He's confident and he respects the game. He could run the point giving the Knicks an option to have three guys on the floor that can run the offense. Rose is a good post player, and can hit the jumper all over the court.

I want Rose so bad......for Penny? geez. That would be a small miricle.

I know what he was thinking. he was listening to people like Mike Breen who say that Kurt Thomas should be considered an ALL NBA DEFENSIVE TEAM player. Another perfect example of New York overrating it's players. Chad Pennington and Allan Houston are some other good examples

but it still made no sense to resign him especially as poorly as he was playing last year. Zeke couldn't possibly have seen anything good in him which is why I thought he resigned him instead of losing him to free agency so that he could get something back for him in a trade. So why the hell did he include the no trade kicker! it makes no sense!

That trade kicker makes no sense for a player like KT. It is just a dumb move to add the trade kicker in that extension. I like what Isiah has done with this team so far but this kicker is a dumb move IMHO. I wonder if KT will ever be traded...
