The latest NBA rumor has the Cavs possibly acquiring Hornets' big man Jamaal Magloire and/or teammate guard Baron Davis, and are exploring potential three-way deals to get one or both, with the possible 3rd team being Minnesota. The Cavs have a few expiring contracts like center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, and guard Jeff McGinnis, totaling approximately $17 million (a significant amount for a rebuilding team like the Hornets).

But, while Ilgauskas might be taller than Magloire, he might not be as reliable on the open floor, and on the offensive end. He's among this season's worst-shooting centers, making 44.8 percent of his shots. Top NBA centers like Shaquille O'Neal, Yao Ming, Tim Duncan and Brad Miller - and even journeymen such as former Cav Chris Mihm and Nazr Mohammed - out-shoot Ilgauskas.

The Hornets have had a very disappointing season, as they have dealt with moving to the difficult Western Conference and a whole series of injuries to key players.

this is the perfect example of stats being misleading or a writer not knowing what he is talking about. Or both.

Would anyone rather have Chris Mihm over Big Z? Z's fg % is lower because he shoots 18 and 20 footers on the regular as opposed to our own Nazzy who mainly scores on put backs and dunks. The only reason someone might want Nazzy over Z is health issues, Z was averaging 17 points a game a year or 2 ago. He clogs the lane just because of his size and he blocks more than a decent amount of shots. He has a very polished offensive game as well.b More polished than anyone mentiond in this article. Magloire brings more athleticism to the table, but they try and imply that Nazy and mihm are bette because they have better fg% it means nothing. Z dropped 35 in indiana this year. None of those other centers has ever dropped that many points in a game.
