dont look now but as of 2day the knicks r actually out of the playoffs and r third in a sorry atlantic division. now i am a fan in general of zeke and his moves, except 4 hiring lenny. But looking at the upcoming schedual we mite get in2 a deep w/out the ability 2 make up enough of the ground if say phili or boston or even toronto who is only 2 games bak of the knicks can put 2 gether a solid run while were struggling.

now zeke has done a solid job, i think a lot of ppl r rushing 2 judgement on him, this will bcome a very good team in time, prob when we can use our exp contracts over the summer, but looking at this year, is their actually a chance the knicks coud miss the playoffs?

Yes. Zero teams have clinched a playoff spot and thus each team could miss the playoffs

I'm starting to think that missing the playoffs wouldn't be such a bad thing this year.

if this is gonna be the team for the rest of the year with the same coach then I rather miss the playoffs by a lot and get a high pick. if isiah makes a good trade then I'll go playoffs

I would like to make the playoffs because I think the experience is worth it for guys like Crawford, Sweetney, Ariza, Marbury.. more so than the 3 spots will would move if we didnt get it

agree. Either you miss the playoffs by a lot, or you get that experience. playoffs gives a chance to the young players to know what the nba is really about.
playoffs also give them a reason to work for in the summer.

we'll be fine. If we happen to miss the playoffs this year, no big deal. it's not as if we were expected to win it all this year after all.

With the current coach in place, and the lack of a big man and defensive players, it is very possible that these current Knicks will miss the playoffs. In fact, if we plan to tank the rest of the season, we need only to give Marbury a season ending flu bug.

I totally agree with you. Let's wait after the trade deadline. If Kurt is still with our team and Lenny is our coach, we will miss the playoffs.......

I dont care if we miss the playoffs this year as long as we re still making steps forward.

our roster is flawed, but most of it will have been swaped over the next 12 months.

I'd like to see KT go this year, so we put an end to our jumpshooting story.

Good to see you're starting to see things the way I saw them a season ago :)
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I agree, but I would like that to happen minus KT on this team, we have got to do something with him. He's gotta go. At this point I would trade him for a pick, or Diop and Wagner or ride on the circle line.

No trades until the summer. Please.

I think this team would be helped IMMEASURABLY by missing the playoffs. Look, it's another deep draft. If the Knicks stay right where they are, or fall lower, they'll get a top ten pick AT WORST. If they win the division, they get a 14/15/16/17 type pick. So, yes, at least 4 drafting slots, but at BEST it's a jump to a top three pick, a gamble this team has to take.

The Knicks need to tank. Start Sweets and Ariza. Ditch Kurt to the Nyets for their trade exception. Shop Penny and TT this summer. Then they'll have the 9th pick, instead of the 15th or so. Not a huge difference? True. Until you look at the recent 9th picks. Sweetney. Amare. Shawn Marion. Paul Pierce. And, yes, Isiah drafted Tracy McGrady from the 9 spot in Toronto. Wouldn't one of these players help more than another first round sweep and a dubious division crown? Best case, they get super lucky and get a top three pick and take a Williams or Taft type. But if they tank, they can get a Hakim Warrick or Boone type in the late lottery. They need to tank.

I know this team can win 43-45 games if everything goes JUST right, but we all know that the team can be better next year and it has to start with getting a very good pick in a deep draft, as opposed to getting embarassed in the playoffs again and getting a decent pick.

its a team full of jumpshooters. I agree that Kurt is just another jumpshooter we dont need. he plays hard and i love him, but how many times are we going to be beat at the 4 spot?
