I would be shocked if Isiah does not fire Lenny or at least make a trade. I don't know about Lenny getting fired because Doc Rivers is doing worse and he has a job. But there has to be some trades made. I think we need a big man like Nene. James Posey would be a good swing man to pick up. If we can get a backup point like Speedy Claxton that would be also good.

Some changes have to be made. In the fourth quarter it seems like this team plays as if they are nervous rather than playing composed.

Zeke is under a rock with flames all around it. But he's a big boy he knew what he was getting into, he bounced Chaney out on his dome and didn't care. Signed Marbury and thought he could fool fans as if he signed an "IMPACT POST PLAYER"

Now that zEKE runs the show who will he try and please by the trade deadline....the fans who want to win now; or coventional wisdom that say suck for awhile and get better with his own choice of young talent thru the draft.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Good post. Isiah created a situation now that fans expect everytime the teams does bad he has to fire the coach. His best bet is to hire one of his assistant coaches because if he gets someone from the outside he can't fire them if things go wrong. There are some teams that make the playoffs and still get talent either threw the draft or undrafted players. Dallas, Indiana for example. Maybe he just needs to trade players for draft picks not for players already in the league.

With the CBA the way it is, it is very difficult for Isiah to just "trade" for draft picks. What he can do is try and trade for lesser talented players with expiring contracts and then get the draft pick to seal that gap.

a panic move usually results in longer term damage... and that's the last thing we can afford to have happen.

Isiah has his hands full. He wants to fire Lenny, but he doesn't want to look bad in the eyes of many. Frankly, this Knicks team can do well with another coach calling the shots. They need a defensive minded voice to preach and scream defense at all times. As offensive minded as the players we have are, we need an opposite style of coach to incite those guys to be consistant. Also, I dont believe that the player we have playing the four is who we need. We have to make drastic change at that position to be successfull. We have enough jump shooters on the court, we dont need a jump shooting PF........

... using a baseball analogy... when you need a backup SS and all of a sudden, your regular SS goes down with an injury... the price goes way up.... same thing here... we have injuries and more importantly, all the GM's know we're hurting... makes them feel they have more leverage.

If Zeke can make the right deal, so be it but, for numerous reasons, we can't do a deal for doing a deals sake due to current crisis.

It's unfortunate that to create an urgency with the Knicks, someone always seems to have to be fired or traded. Not that I mind, I find that odd. Having said that, a move has to be done no matter what to shoot down the losing mentality; we don't want the players going in thinking they're going to lose.

exactly... stay the course. I would like to see KT go. He does nothing at PF that Jerome cant do. Maybe his 15 footer is better but that shot hurts us not helps us.

I am so so sorry folks, but a change is highly necessary now. I know that we have to be careful at what we do, but a change of attitude is necessary. As it it right now, our head leader is not able to provide our players what they need to succeed. Lenny did an excellent job at teaching Crawf and Marb, but someone else needs to step in to finish the puzzle. Our front court needs some serious help, and Agwire has proven that he can provide that. Why not just let him step in as an interim coach until the end of the season? if he fails to produce, replace before next season. However, I truly believe that our boys need a motivator to challenge them from beginning to end of games...

if you make a change now, then you better just let an assistant take over, and not aguirre. i'd let malone or suhr do it. aguirre may be our future coach but you need to put in a guy that you can get rid of easy after the season just in case we have a legitimate shot at phil jackson (who i want only for the reason that everyone can finally SHUT UP about who the coach is).

personally, i'd let lenny finish the season and address it after it's over.

I would much rather have Agwire at the helm instead of anyone else. He molded the front line and they would more likely to listen to his command, especially if we get rid of Kurt. With Sweetney at PF and Nazr at Center, it is imperative to get consistant performance out of that front court.

No matter what anyone thinks, after we get value for Penny and TT contracts and hopefully a few more good moves, we'll be in much better position next year than we ever could a year ago... you can't just look at the record, that's the ultimate in anal...

anyway... my vote... Phil Jackson... but, not until next season. Let Lenny ride it out.

I really think Kurt will be traded at the deadline. Zeke is just being smart and letting his value rise.

Value rise everyone out there knows he is a 11 ppg and 8-9 rebs a game. Stop it you guys are killing me with he is trying to raise his value. You can't do it he is what he is a peaked out and on the down PF. You wanted a raided value it was last year in his walk year. With the current contrac the has now you couldn't get rid of him for anything of value at most a second round pick and another crappy player.

I don't know what we can get for Kurt. Last year he was playing good before the hand injury and all Isiah could come up with is Malik Rose. Maybe Kurt and another player would probably make things happen.

Did anyone else not notice in the huddle on the last possession Mark AGUIRRE had his backto Lenny's huddle on the last inbound play.

Something is going on and Aguirre knows what it is.

He didn't even care while all the other assisstants were in ther huddle

Aguirre is probably had enough of all the ridiculous plays that Lenny has been calling. It seems that this team only knows how to run a pick and roll with Kurt and Marbury and that's about it.

Isiah should have pulled the trigger on that deal when it was offered. I do believe that Malik Rose is a much better athlete than Kurt will never be.
