From today's NY Post.

"In a feature in his hometown Chicago Tribune, Isiah Thomas said, "The history is this is a place where no one really has been able to win." Thomas was apparently discounting the Knicks' two NBA championships (1970, 1973) and two Eastern Conference titles in past 11 years (1994, 1999."

He's really desperate to look for excuses isn't he? Basically he's asking people to be very understanding when he doesn't win because he thinks nobody has ever won here before but if by chance he does win, he should be looked at as a conquering hero since he's the only one that's done it. What a freaking joke. The guy is such a self serving jerk.

Have a clue at least about the history of the franchise before you say something that self serving and stupid. The Knicks championship teams were only the epitome of the word "team". Something that this collection of losers, that Isiah has assembled, knows absolutely nothing about.

Islesfan,

What's your point? Isiah was speaking the truth. Those championships from 1970 and 1973 are few and far between much less EC titles of '94 and '99. Face it, Knicks had more shares of losing or better yet...mediocre seasons than championship seasons. I still like this team better than it was two years ago. Come on, ride the Isiah bandwagon. Stop hatin.

exactly Knicksdom

i understand how anyone can be objective
as far as their comments
but at some point when you speak of winning
then you don't start with teams that won championships 30 something years ago

or.
and i could be wrong but maybe isiah was misinterpreted by what he meant by "winning"

i've seen people post here about how the knicks are losers

well maybe islesfan should reply to their posts also with how
knicks have won the Eastern Conf championships and the nba titles that were won back when gilligan's island was the number 1 show in america

Actually- as I think about, we might be one of the older franchises, but we haven't won a lot.

The reason that the Knicks haven't won a championship in 32 years is that they always look for the quick fix because they subscribe to the moronic philosophy that you can't rebuild in New York. They are doing the same thing now.
