I'm all for taking Williams in the draft (pending we can't get a reliable big man first), but there's one major problem in my opinion. There are three point guards on this team that all make a painfully large amount of money. To play a rookie point guard over them, while correct in this case, would send at least one $6M investment to the 12th chair on the bench.
I'd personally prefer that the Knicks take Gooden or Ming, should either be available... the bigger and more capable of dominating with his back to the basket, grabbing rebounds, and blocking shots, the better.
