Davis on the block
The Warriors are looking for ways to trade Dale Davis, according to the San Francisco Chronicle

http://www.hoopshype.com

Golden State trades: SG Mickael Pietrus (9.3 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.1 apg in 20.7 minutes)
C Dale Davis (2.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 0.5 apg in 14.7 minutes)
Golden State receives: PG Jamison Brewer (1.3 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.5 apg in 10.3 minutes)
C Bruno Sundov (2.2 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 0.2 apg in 4.7 minutes)
SF Tim Thomas (10.6 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 27.2 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +2.7 ppg, -0.4 rpg, and +0.2 apg.

New York trades: PG Jamison Brewer (1.3 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.5 apg in 10.3 minutes)
C Bruno Sundov (2.2 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 0.2 apg in 4.7 minutes)
SF Tim Thomas (10.6 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 27.2 minutes)
New York receives: SG Mickael Pietrus (9.3 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.1 apg in 20.7 minutes)
C Dale Davis (2.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 0.5 apg in 14.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -2.7 ppg, +0.4 rpg, and -0.2 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

GS resigned Ricahrdson and I thought I read somewhere they would look to move Pietrus....We can get an expiring contract and a young SF/SG to play with Ariza, Craw, and Steph......Pietrus would make a great sixth man, IMO...Davis comes off the books this year, and GS has Timmy off the books next year to make the run at Yao or a BIG name FA that they are supposed to be players for...

I like this trade, only problem is that GS is really high on Pietrus. They were talking about moving Jason Richardson to SF or even trading him. If they are ready to trade Pietrus, this is a good trade.

It's a good trade from the Knicks stand point but why would they do it? Dale comes off the books after this season. Pietrus could be traded for a player still on their rookie deal.

Knicks do need a shake up. I welcome anything not including Ariza, Craw, or Marbs.

I would add sweets to that list but I would include him in a move for a big man with a greater upside.

I have yet to see Pietrus play. I will assume he's something special from the way people here seem to be high on him.

no way we're getting Pietrus w/o trading Ariza or Sweetney imho...why would GS make that trade? TT's contract does not offer them any kind of cap relief in that scenario because DD's contract expires after this season...we need to throw in a 1st round pick, a young player like Ariza or Sweetney, or something to that effect, otherwise they have no reason to deal w/us.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Like I explained.....They don't want cap relief this year...next year when Ming and that group are FA's they wanted to make a strong run at Ming..meaning that cap relief this year does them no good...

that trade isnt realistic at all.. GS gets nothing.

Try this for an offer..
TT+ Nazr for Foyal, Dale Davis and Pietrus and GS #2 this year. It works under the cap and gives the Knicks MUCH more of what they need. Young long athletic defenders that can run with Marbury. Then you have 4 guys who can play multiple posititions and are young on your wing in Marbury/Crawford/Pietrus and Ariza. Dale Davis comes off the books and that give you some flexibility to go sign a Steven Hunter and move some combo of Baker/Moochie/Penny if you can.

The GS pick will help us get a backup PG in the draft and we can use our #1 for Brigg's sweetheart Wayne Simien.

pg Marbury, Nate Robinson
sg Crawford, Pietrus
sf JYD, Ariza
pf Sweetney, Simien
c Hunter, Foyal
hmmm.. young, athletic, tough, fast... maybe rebuilding in NY isnt so tough. God forbid Houston ever got healthy add him. I assume KT is gone for late #1 or something.
