wrong hand to break. this team has had the worst injuries by far the entire year.

Well, they've been hurt all year long, every single game this year they had atleast 2 or more core players out, every single game and are 23-13. Im sure they will flip dixon in at starter and move Peeler to back up.

Wizards' Hughes Out Up to Six Weeks With Broken Thumb

WASHINGTON -- Wizards guard Larry Hughes will miss four to six weeks with a broken right thumb, a huge loss for one of the NBA's most surprising teams.

Hughes fractured his thumb during Saturday night's victory over the Phoenix Suns.

"I am very disappointed that this happened, but I have full confidence that my teammates will play well while I'm out," Hughes said in a statement Sunday. "I look forward to getting back as soon as possible."

In his seventh season, Hughes is second on the team and 18th in the league in scoring, averaging 21.2 points per game. He leads the league in steals (2.82) and is averaging 6.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 34 games.

The Wizards, at 22-13, are off to their best start since the 1978-79 season. They have won seven straight.

"Larry is having an exceptional year and this is a difficult loss for our team," coach Eddie Jordan said. "We certainly feel for Larry, who has played a big part in our team's success. We have confidence in our team to overcome a setback like this."

.... like a previous thread mentioned, everyone has to deal with injuries.

too bad for Hughes however, just when he was really starting to emaerge on a consistent basis.

wow....no etan, no kwame and haywood had to hold his own and the 'zards still had a winning record. now hughes, who is on fire goes down and the juan and only takes over off the bench with 26 points. seems like 'zards find a way to win instead of finding excuses.
