which atlantic team would you rather be?

of all the sucky teams in the atlantic, which one would you be?

knicks 17-18
boston 16-19
philly 15-18
toronto 13-22
nj 12-22

knicks have some youth and expiring deals along with a #1 and #2 this offseason.

boston had 5 #1 picks the past two years (perkins, allen, west, jefferson) to show for it.

philly has AI2, and for now dalembert.

toronto has bosh as well as 3 #1 picks this season.

jersey has 3 olympians, where 2 can break down anytime and 1 just broke down for the first time. but also have krstic and a #1 plus trade exemptions to use now and cap space in the offseason.

Knicks because only they can afford to take back bad contracts as part of deals to get good players over the next two years. When healthy, they're also the best out of all those teams right now.

i'd say TOR is set up well w/a franchise bigman in place already, some good veterans (EWill, ATrain & Zo), an expiring contract (Marshall) & 3 1st rounders to totally revamp their roster w/good young talent.

weve taken back 200mm in contracts in one year--how is it working out?

with the new CBB agreement, the knicks may be put on an allowance if there is a ceiling, which is likely. every team has a price they cant go over and our payroll next year is already higher than this years by 5mm and there are only 11 players under contract. I keep thinking we may be able to use the MLE--etc.. but i just dont see how it is plausible $ wise.

I think what the Knicks need to do is bite the bullet and trade for some draft picks--were the team that needs to lower payroll if anything

How is it working out? The team went in 1 year from .350 to .550 when healthy/.500 overall
I couldn't have asked for more in 1 year.
We know nothing about what the next CBA agreement will be. You're making a lot of assumptions.

this should be our course of action:

if we can't trade nazr/kurt and a #1 for any of the young bigs or artest, we keep the pick and draft the best athletic player available, even if he's a backup PG.

keep and use the 2nd round pick.

DO NOT trade tim and penny and just let those deals come off the books. a bad trade with one of these two deals and we could be set back for years.

use nazr, vin, moochie's expiring deals to acquire a player.

trade kurt ASAP for a SF. he can't get us a big.

make sure sweets loses 15-20 lbs.

DO NOT trade ariza.
