Coach Mike Fratello has the team playing smart and inspired basketball; he's won 13 of 19 since taking over for interim coach Lionel Hollins (who took over for Hubie Brown), without wholesale personnel or rotation changes. Shane Battier has taken on an increased role at the expense of Stromile Swift, but the difference between the minutes allotted under Brown and under Fratello is negligible. It seems clear Swift is not part of Memphis' long-term plans.

I think Swift is a definate MLE candidate and a line up of Marbury/Crawford/Ariza/Swift would be one of the NBA's fastest. The only problem is you have 3 other PFs on the roster.

If we could move KT however I would love a combo of Swift and Sweetney at the 4.

tough to say. A year ago I would have said no way no how, also based on the kind of deals guys like Boozer and Okur got, but Swift hasnt been able to crack 20 minutes and keeps getting his minutes cut.

its tough to be in the FA market. People always talk about cap space, but each team can really only afford to target one or two guys. Problem is if you miss the one your wining and dining your stuck with nothing.
