he's the same height as all the 6'8 players Ariza, JYD, Kurt. Watching him just reaffirms that Sweetney needs to get down to 250. Zach isnt explosive and doesnt have a super muscular build. Hell, JYD is probably a lot stronger, but he's got that great quickness, nose for the ball and soft hands. Sweetney's 265 is hurting him. They way he moves around the basket if he was 250 I could see a Zach like 20/10 easy. If you have watched Zack over the last couple years they have been very similar

it's not that-- its body control and cat like agility for his bulk. He moves real quick for his size, he almost slithers and has a way above average handle. I really dont think Mike is anywhere near his legue, if he was, he would be starting. He could try to lose weight, but that wont give him what this cat has. I think he sprobably 6-8 260 or so.

see... I actually see that in Mike. Especially when you see him with the up and under layup or the spin moves around the basket along with his ability to draw fouls. Its the extra 15 pounds to me.

Hey.. it took Zach 2 years to break through, and he played more than Mike. Same situation, stuck behind veterans. Only difference is Weed was versatily enough to put at 3 and play them both. KT doesnt = Sheed.

I thought the same thing when I saw him. Sweets is quick and agile, but definitely needs to lose fat and put on some muscle. But I can see it though, they way sweets can move, he can do it. Sweets has to develop his shot though, Zach can straight up shoot as well.

In general, I agree with you guys. The key parts missing to sweetney's game are the ability to stay out of foul trouble, the ability to hit a jumper consistently, and a nice handle.

I agree, but I think the handle is far less important, he isn't or shouldn't be taking anyone off the dribble.

BTW was it me or was Ruben Patterson looking really good out there. He was all over the boards and he was really attacking the basket. He played well tonight.

Zach is also a southpaw so he's tricky to guard, & can hit a perimeter J alot more consistently than Sweets...plus his lowpost moves are alot more refined than Sweetney's are at this point...not to mention the catlike quickness & ballhandle that was already mentioned.

Sweets needs to get his weight down to increase his game stamina if he wants to play starter's minutes against NBA level competition...he will show flashes in spurts, but i'll have to see alot more consistency from him to put him at a ceiling of Zach.

What is the one thing Zack gets that Sweetney doesn't. You guessed it its time on teh floor. Give Sweetney minutes watch his game evolve and at the same time watch his extra weight come off. PT does that folks. With KT around and probably retire a Knick it doesn't look like Sweetney will ever get a chance as a KNick. It is developing another Playoff whore team. Playoffs for the sake of playoffs with no purpose to win the whole shabang. This is called veteran oriented youth movement. Sweetney will start in 2008 and Ariza in 2009.

why not also underlining what swweet has and zach hasn't.

Willingness to have teamates involved. Everytime i saw randolph play, this guy was a freaking blackhole.

sweet is a nice passer, who makes good decision with the ball.

the glass is not always half empty.
