Nope...still would gladly stay with Sweets than trade for Curry. Pretty much for all the reasons that were listed for this side of the arguement when the topic was being beaten to death.

I wanted to trade Sweets for Curry then so you know I would do that trade now.

was it really confirmed that Curry could have been had for Sweets? I don't think it was.

If it is possible to get Dalembert, Steve Hunter or a Chandler type without giving up Sweets, I would rather go that route. Weak side defender who can rebound like a machine with Sweets playing the post is nice.

I like this idea although i think it is probably not realistic.

Curry has a greater upside than Sweeets and he is 6-11. You have to make the trade if it is offered, but I am not so sure it ever was. We could probably make some kind of move for Kwame Brown though, involving Sweetney and maybe an expiring contract and a pick. Kwame would be second to Curry IMO.

Hey, I agree with a Curry for Sweets swap, but realistically the Knicks would have to give up Ariza and at least a #1 and take back a bad contract. It may be easier to find a defensive minded 5 without giving up the farm.

I really think Zeke should find out what CHI would take from us for Curry and consider if it is reasonable. Let sweets play some serious minutes when he comes back and lets see if it makes sense to lose him. Not him and Ariza though. We need to keep one of the young guys at least. Ariza is really starting to win me over.

We really should make a move for one of the young guys that are available starting with Curry and Kwame, and then moving down the line from there.

I think it was pretty close to confirmed that Curry could be had for both Nazr and Sweets. But I don't remember reading anywhere that Curry could be had for Sweets alone.

Same here, I would've done that deal then and I would still do it today (though the Bulls wouldn't do it right now).

Yeah it was Curry and Antonio Davis
for Nazr, Sweets, and somebody else. Zeke tried to force Mocchie down their throats and but they requested Sweets instead. You have to take a chance, I think it is alot to risk, but there is not one other young center that I would rather have than Curry. After that we just need a n athletic jumping rebounding guy like chandler. In the meantime, Curry and KT would be lethal on offense, on defense I am not so sure. Curry is a nice presence in the paint, but he's gotta grow more as a defensive center. I would take the chance though. We still have expiring contracts available to make some more moves.

There are NO other prospects with his kind of potential, maybe Kwame could be a D. Rob type if he bumped his head and everything fell into place. But Shaq has a few years left, so Curry will have a chance to dominate for a nice stretch.
Anyone wish we had traded sweets for curry when we had the chance?
