The Nets are awfull and VC is just another chucker that doesnt play D. Knicks are hurting but we have some guys coming back, namely Sweetney and Crawford. Nets have the Nugget's pick coming (they dont have a #1 from the Clippers, I checked, it was a #2). Knicks have the expiring contracts and $$$ and fan base.

Would the Nets do KT for Denver's #1? Would we?

nets entire team is kidd, vince, and rj. two of which can go down for the season at any time. they also have alot of $$$ in trade exemptions but i'm not sure how valuable they'll be this season. i can't really think of any big men teams will look to dump b/c of salary reasons this year. but if they land a swift or dalembert, they could be back, but it completely depends on kidd's health.

i like our chances to really improve the frontcourt after the season. i don't overvalue our players so i think i know what's attainable and for what. i don't think kurt can get us anybody big. we have to ship him for a swingman and that's also part of a package (kurt + ariza/sweets for artest? depends on how desperate bird is in trading artest). that's why i suggested making one of the two following deals b/c i think houston or sac would bite:

kurt for spoon and #1
kurt for ostertage and #1

both spoon and ostertag expire next season and it's easier to move multiple smaller expiring deals that one big one.

so in answer to your question - kurt for the nets #1? hells yes.

nets may bite b/c they may be in a win now mode.
