We can package Houston with Marbury for a bunch of bad players that should expre in 2 years, and get a pick or two out of it.

Then trade away KT for a 1st round pick and some garbage player.

In 2 seasons TT, Penny, Mooch, will be gone as there deals expire. By that time we will have 2 high lottery picks, developed Ariza and Sweetney and a load of capspace, as we will not sign anybody.

Its easy, too bad we will never do it.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Just fire Isiah and hire a real GM. That would be a good start. Then they can trade away all these bad contracts that Isiah accumulated and get back those 2 draft picks.

How is that an option? People are already talking about dumping Sweetney after 70+ games in the NBA. Who's taking Houston? Are you watching? He cant run? He cant get back on D. The only reason he's playing at all is every one else on the roster there is hurt, otherwise Brewer would be getting his minutes.

Hi Isles... good to see you.

Thats why you package him with Marbury. We took on Penny to get him.
I'm sure somebody else out there is idiotic enough to pull a Thomas.

or you could just give the guy due time and let him improve the frontcourt. When you look at the problems with this team Marbury is what jumps out at you? Thats what needs to be fixed? Wow. Ok

layden was like crack to the knicks.

we are now in detox.

it takes time.

let's give isiah 3 years before we hire a "real" GM like bird, mchale, and the other "real" GM's that haven't won a title...

I suspect 2 years will be enough to see real results. Back court last offseason, front court this offseason. I suspect a first round pick and the 5 expiring deals will be enough to drasticly turn over the front court while cutting down salary. Even someone as totally inept as Isiah can do that

Relax man, you may not realize it, but WE ARE REBUILDING. It may not be the standard approach, but still, for the first time in years, we have a future!
We got younger, we have guys like Sweetney, Ariza, and Crawford who are 22, 19, and 24, along with Marbury and Mohammed who are both 27. We have draft picks, and a GM who knows how to draft.
There is only so much you can do with this roster the way it was constructed before.
Anytime you rebuild, no matter what route you take, you have to give it time. This method just happens to be expensive for Dolan and less extreme in terms of sucking for 5 years.

wow is right. The one player that we have that is possily the best at his position an one of the best in this league should be traded. Lebron is not in the draft so I don't see the point.

Simrud, this is the craziest thing you have ever written. Lets wait about 4 or 5 years to be .500 again? Nah, if that were the best option I would agree. It isn't and nobody is gonna take H20 even with Steph. It is a bad idea sparked by the horrible feeling of rooting for a team that is getting blown by 30 to a team that we have beaten before.

Who wants to suck for 4 or 5 years? We have the chips to make some deals and be an elite team between this year and the next. It all depends on what moves are made. We just have to wait and se. KT for Wally would be the beginning of several moves to come.

wow...people were calling Kiki Vandewegh the biggest genius in the NBA just a few months ago for putting together that DEN team...last time i checked that team was 4 games under .500...i guess that makes him a bad GM now...gotcha.

The knicks ARE rebuilding. They just have to wait for Penny and TT's contract to end next summer. Try and get someone for them that will help the front court. Or just let their contracts expire and then wait for Allan Houston's contract to expire. One thing is for sure, as long as Allan Houston's contract is on the books, the team cannot win anything.

Forgive the dude that wrote this thread. He is hurt after watching his team taking a beating tonight. I feel your pain son, but blowing up the team is not called for. However, we must make two moves to get back in the hunt: trade Kurt Thomas and fire Lenny. Replace Kurt with Webb is we can get him or do the easiest of the trade: Kurt and an expiring contract for P.J. Brown and JJ or Kurt + for Scerbiack and Kandi, or Timmy, Sweetny and Penny for Webb and Doug Christie....

we're not getting CWebb now...& even if we had a chance to get him now, it will take way too much for anyone here to be in favor of it.

KT for Webb would never happen because you have to match up the salaries, & SAC would have to be out of their minds to make that trade of TT, Sweetney & Penny for CWebb & Christie now.

i liked your KT & expiring contract for PJ & JJ idea though...i think i suggested a very similar one in a thread last week.

I just think Isiah is rebuilding this team one step at a time. He can't get all the players we need in one season. Give him time like many of the GM's get time to rebuild.

shut up TMS... that kind of logic has no place in an anti Isiah thread.

I don't think that anyone on this board is arguing that Isiah needs time to work his magic. However, many of us don't think that Lenny needs time to continue to crap all over us
