watson is splitting minutes with jwill. i doubt he comes to the knicks to essentially play 10 mins a night. he's good, but this is not a good situation for him personally.
the best of the bunch would be swift, but that would be the full MLE at minimum.
i think we can make a deal for a SF instead of using the MLE on one so i wouldn't do donyell.
bonzi's intriguing but i don't know how well he's fit with the ball being dominated by marbury and crawford.
which leaves gadzuric and hunter. i like gadzuric alot. he's a 7 foot version of jyd but he can pretty much give you about 25 mins a night max b/c he goes all out. hunter has the tools but some orlando fans say he just doesn't get it out there kinda like swift.
but anyways, out of that list, #1 would be swift but if we can split it between gadzuric AND hunter, i would love to do that.
i understand our need for backup PG, but if craw is the 6th man, splitting the position, then maybe we can acquire someone on the cheap for the LLE or the veteran's minimum.
but before anything, we need to lockup ariza.
earl watson will be a hot FA. it wont be easy to get him no matter what. but this is what my initial game plan would be, trying to get Hunter and Watson for 5 year split MLE contracts. I dont care what Orlando fans say about Hunter, the guy is playing great and we have a tremendous needs for a real 7 footer who can play back up--but also be able to start AND posibly deveop into the starter outright.
we have already seen what having a sub par PG does, it's going to cost money to get a high quality back up +++ its important to cut down Marburys minutes to 35.
This is a PG heavy draft, but id rather get a proven back up PG--id rather go 4-3 in the draft if possible. OR if we can use the pick +Sweetney and KT for Artest?
