My only thought and coach to get, would be to go after Phil Jackson. He has won championships, both as a player, and a coach, and Triangle Offense in New York? If, and I hope it happens, Lenny is canned, then I think Phil Jackson would be a great fit for NY. Discuss.

I would have to say that if Isiah gets a big man though Kurt and/or expiring contracts (Nazr, TT, Moochie, Penny, Vin) and the Knicks still have young/up and coming guns like Sweets and Ariza, I would give good odds on Phil Jackson becoming the Knicks' coach. But not until then.

This year and next are transition years for the Knicks. IMHO, Lenny is there to teach Marbury to be a better point guard - that's his first first and (almost) only goal. Goal 1b is to get the Knicks into the playoffs. All of the other assistants are there to make the individual players better.

A coach that will bring team defense and team offense will come AFTER the transition Isiah is going to make over the next year and a half. Really. Or at least that is my thought.

how about Mark Jackson. He's a no bull**** guy and he will teach Marbury well. Lenny is too laid back

Jackson is a better fit in Denver than in NY because of IT.

Didn't Phil say he wanted to take a team who is almost there?

I am skeptical that Isiah would ever hire a coach with as strong an ego as Phil Jackson.

I'd be surprised if he hired a white coach.

i think i'd rather see a Princeton style offense w/alot of motion & cutting off screens than a Triangle offense being deployed in NY...i don't think Marbury's freelancing nature would work well in a Triangle personally unless we had a good passing bigman like a CWebb that you could work it through, which would allow Marbury to take on more of a scorer's role (a-la Kobe & Shaq)

plus, i don't see Phil Jackson & Isiah's ego's being a good mesh w/one another.

I think we need a coach in here like Larry Brown. It is no secret that he has been very unhappy in detroit since the brawl and I think we can steal him for next season.

He is a teacher that can motivate this team to play some defense.

Any thoughts?

hiring phil jackson at this stage while shaq is in service may not be choice for whinning fans not satisfied with lenny.....too bad to everyone screaming fire chaney. at least give lenny the end of the season before making any change. bring jackson in say 2 years or so. vince should be on top of his game and phil should be ready to make a run

I could see Suhr taking over this year with Phil coming in next. NY is the only place left for Phil. Wasn't Red Holzman was his idol.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Knight the Knick! I like the way it sounds.

He can fling chairs and the sponsers would love it, cus they got ads on them now!

Likely offered Knight the position out of respect.

Fratello is white? I thought he was Italian?

Just kidding!

that's right red was his idol and phil learned the meaning of defense under red. think about it: phil combined red's defense, tex's offense with phil's own mind game methodology = 9 rings......pure genius

as much as i hate to see knicks loose, i hope lenny can save face and make adjustments. getting fired or to quit should no longer be an option in knicks organization
