Not too basketball related, but it was nice to hear.
KNICKS PLAYERS DONATING $1,000 PER POINT TO TSUNAMI RELIEF For Tomorrow’s Game, Donations Will Be Made To UNICEF
Several New York Knicks players will donate $1,000 for each point they score during tomorrow’s game to the Tsunami relief fund. For tomorrow’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Stephon Marbury, Allan Houston, Moochie Norris, Vin Baker and Nazr Mohammed will all donate $1,000 to UNICEF for each point that they individually score during the game. When he returns from the Injured List, Jamal Crawford will do the same.
"When something like the tsunami disaster happens, it not only affects the people in Asia, but it directly affects all of mankind. I knew in my heart that I must help the cause," Marbury said.
"When I saw the tragic events on television, I just knew I had to do something - and right now, making a donation to UNICEF is a good first step," Mohammed said.
In addition, the rest of the Knicks players are making private contributions to UNICEF to aid the victims of the Tsunami.
