for tony battie. thats a terrible trade. i understand that perhaps Gooden wore out his welcome and Hunter hadnt come of age yet--many bigs are slow to develop+Verajo had 0 value YET, but in REALISM each of those players is much younger and have more talent--in Goodens case MUCH MUCH more talent.

they traded 3 young athletic skilled 6-10+ guys for a medicore older 6-11 back up C. STUPID.

BOY I wish we gave them KT for that package I mean KT is way better than Battie isiah where were you? doing crawford flips?

lets review this man...

hunter was an orlando scrub, complete scrub for years - pure bust garbage, trash. steve nash had a jason kidd effect on hunter and made him look good. put him on any other team and he'll look like trash again.

gooden was a tool and forgot plays and was disruptive and played the same position that the #1 rookie pick dwight howard who has "superstar" potential played. gooden is also benefitting from the "lebron james" effect.

varejevo played the same position that dwight played and on a team with a selfish PG like francis would not have developed into anything.

tony battie is a warrior, the type of guy that you want around a young stud in the making like DH. KT is known as Crazy Eyes for a reason. How much has KT helped Sweets become a man? I'm sure Battie is pushing howard in practice but can come off the bench without pouting like KT does. KT needs to be the starter. Battie doesnt. The magic wisely put solid big man vets around their rook DH.

I respectfully disagree with Caseloads, although I agree with some of your points. You just DON'T trade away two big man prospects and a guy who is clearly gonna be a stud for a backup C. Battie plays with energy and gives his best. So what? Gooden bitching and being the a-hole he sometimes is is NOT an excuse to trade him. How many other teams do you see that trade away guys just because they don't have the right attitude? Plenty of NBA "superstars" have huge, fragile egos that make the people around them want to puke. Are most of them staying put? The answer is yes. Drew Gooden has the potential to be a very good PF, and is already showing it this year. He is much more physically talented than Carlos Boozer, the PF he replaced, and Orlando did a very idiotic thing. You can never have too many good players. At least trade these guys for something better...

Battie a warrior? how many playoff games has he ben in? ill give it to ya, none.hes a solid back up C--is that the price you want for a starting caliber PF and two very young athletic BIg men who need time to develop? No that was stupid. If they thought they were winning the championship this year and Battie was the missing link, ok, but I dont its turned out to be a brutal trade. thats the bottom line.

Briggs-sorry to correct you but he has been in 26 playoff games. In 2002 and 2003. averaged abot 6.3 ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.5 bpg. I agree with your other points however.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate
