With over 1/3 of the games played at this point we all know who has a grasp on what NBA players are capable of putting up decent #'s for their respective teams.

Injuries play apart, but that is why the lower picks in the fantasy draft are so important for Fantasy GM's

The initial draft is quite important; it sets up who your go-to players are--- but you can compensate for a poor draft by strategic FA pickups. Trading is tough in a league of so many suspicious people. :)

I'm just trying to get enough 5-4 matchups to squeak into the playoffs.

Yea Techno, I wish the majority of the forum was included, then we could see how well they would act as a GM .

Silver obviously I am not talking to you,

Set your team for the whole week and you are set 5 minutes max.

Most of these cats stay on this forum all day who are you kidding, they got more time than you think.

Anyways it would really be competitive if OASIS, BRIGGS, NALOD,TFK, ANDREW, MARTIN would be down with this.

I can back playa up on this one. He tried to get Vince from me in one of the leagues but I wanted to hold on to him because I thought he would do nicely in NJ. So far, it looks like I made a good decision by hanging on to him :)

BTW, guys there is a simulation bball league that I'm in that needs more GM's before we can start our draft. For those that really want to see how good they would be as a GM, this is a very good test. Being a GM in this league is very similar to being a GM in the NBA. There is a salary cap, you have draft picks, players can get injured, and you have to act according to the CBA. Plus, games are actually simulated, its not based on the stats your players put up in real life. So chemistry actually plays an important part, this is not a fantasy league where you can just put a bunch of superstars together (like the Lakers did last season) and expect to win. You can even do 3-way trades (which are cool even though they are difficult to pan out). Anyway, I was in last season's league and I had a lot of fun. I like fantasy bball leagues, but this simulation league just blows it out of the water.

The league is run by Jazz (FU) from realgm.com for those that post there. From experience, I can tell you that he puts a lot of work into his simulation leagues and makes sure that it is as realistic as possible. When I say realistic, I mean very realistic, there is an all-star game, there is a dunking contest, there is a 3pt shootout, there are all-first and all-second league teams that your players can be a part of, etc. Keep in mind that if you join, you have to be active or else you will lose your team to someone else that is willing to take your place. Anyway, if you want to join come to this site...

http://bornforthegame.com/forums/index.php

create a username (and put your AIM sn and your email adress in your profile), then go to the league registration forum, and then signup for the league in the official basketball simulation league aI signup thread. My name there is bballmstr32 and I hope to see some of you guys there (especially people like Playa who will give me some competition ).

There are around 10 Gm spots available, so sign up quick before those spots are taken.

Np playa. I'm going to need an assistant GM for my team though if anyone is interested in that (less responsibility but still a lot of fun because you can work on deals with other GM's if you want to).
