this guy plays D and is pure hustle. i don't think he wants to stay in charlotte since he decided not to sign an extension with them before the season. would he command more than the full MLE?

this, of course, is based on the fact that we already made a deal for a big man.

our 2nd unit:

crawford
ariza
g. wallace
sweets/jyd
kurt/jyd

that could become a very nice defensive unit.

Gerald is having a pretty good year. Wouldn't mind signing him, but I can see a team like Atlanta or Charolette throwing some extra cash his way.
Not sure how much I'd spend for him. Might as well help Ariza develop instead.

charlotte may overpay to keep him since they like him so much. no way atlanta does it b/c they have childress and smith for the SF position.

and the goal is to play ariza AND gwallace together at the same time. ariza becomes the backup SG with craw running the point.

on checking that 2005 free agent list, he's a restricted free agent so he may be tougher to get.

just a thought.
