i would do that, it looks like he has fallen a little out of favor and has only garnished back up minutes since Kaman came back. LA lost its 2006 draft pick to NJ, perhaps giving them the 18th pick and a little cash would sway them?

I would do it yes but I would rather trade the pick and expiring contracts to get Elton Brand.

I love Wilcox, but I would only do that if we can move Kurt somewhere, or atleast get him to accept a serious cut in minutes (which doesn't seem possible at times).

Dj said it best. If the Clippers would do a deal like this, you would have to make this trade.

wouldn't we need to match salaries in some fashion.

As for trading the pick, it would have to depend on what the draft is looking like in terms of talent.

I love Wilcox. The type of player we really need- young ,tall, powerful. no brainer- i say we should try to get him now while his value is lower.

I wouldnt trade Brand if I was them, and lets be real, other teams would give a better package. If you had the number 1 pick in next years draft, would you trade it and a good 5mm player for Brand. I would.
Wilcox is a different creature because he will command a much higher contract the next year--atleast 5-6mm per. this is where LA will get cheap--they got cheap with a bunch of players like that they didnt fall in love with. The owner loves Brand and they have to be above a salary floor. This is a team that wont pay Wilcox--you know they could get a flurry of PFs where we draft who will stay in that low salary threshold that equates more for a back up.

What Im thinking is something like #1 pick sign and trade Jamison Brewer+include his 1mm dollar salary in the package to make it work if they want to waive him.

chicago is willing to move brand or chandler for wilcox and a pick. that seems to be better than anything we can offer. it would be VERY tough to get him as will it be to get any young athletic big but alot of things can happen between now and next october.

In a heartbeat, but by rule, the Knicks can't trade the pick. Teams cannot trade first round picks in consecutive seasons. They traded last year's pick for Marbury.

Fish has pointed out that they can't trade the pick, but they can trade the rights to the player they draft. If they workout a deal in advance with a team, they can ask the team who they want drafted with the Knicks' pick and then complete the trade.

I would rather Isiah get Curry but I dont know if thats a possibility now. Wilcox for pick #16-18....have to admit I havent really looked at the kid since the draft - so I dont know anything about him. But if he is as decent as some say then you gotta pull the trigger.

this has a good possibility. Wilcox played like 8 minutes last night. He's big, he's athletic, he plays D. Moochie's expiring contract, the rights to our #1 and cash make it all work. I couldnt ask for a better player than Wilcox in this draft.

Then you still have Nazr and the MLE to add players or do a sign and trade. The nice thing about Wilcox is he's played C for extended minutes and played it well.

If you can then sign Steven Hunter and use NAzr in a sign and trade for Dalembert or Swift you have the makings of a GREAT frontcourt loaded with physically intimidating players.

Sweetney, Swift/Dalembert, JYD, Hunter, Wilcox, KT

Elton Brand??? Why would you want to get Elton Brand when you already have Jurt Thmas who's doing a fabulous jon @ the 4.

Also, by getting Brand will only not allow Sweetney to grow a elite 4.

As a matter of fact Sweetney and Brand's game are qiute similar.

Nope, wouldn't do it.. Not for Brand.. Wilcox would be better cause he can play the 5...

Wilcox hasn't started and has been playing minimal minutes ever since Kaman and Rebraca came back.....

I got a feeling Wilcox will be in New Jersey.

Wilcox, Rich, Krstic, Kidd, and Vince........oh my
