Jason Terry took his coach's criticism to heart on Tuesday, dishing out a season-high 14 assists en route to a blowout win over the Celtics. Mavs head coach Don Nelson called out all of his point guards early this week, and specifically suggested Terry was out of position at the point. "Nellie always wants to motivate us," Terry told the Dallas Morning News. "It was another way to get us going. He hasn't been particularly happy with any of us. It's never personal. He wants everybody on this team to do better."

Zeke(GM) had to be the one who told Marbury to get his head out of his butt and play like you're representing "CONEY ISLAND"

What is Lenny's role as a former PG himself with Marbury when it comes to motivation.


Don Nelson the 2nd winning coach and Lenny the winningest coach one can motivate the other needs his gm to do it.

Bottom line is, Marbury got the point. Right now, I don't think there is a coach out there whose oppinion would mean more to Marbury than Zeke's.

This is another reason why Zeke hired Wilkens besides the obvious HOF credentials, he could dictate and coach from his lofty position as GM.

This is probably the 1st time in history that a GM tells a HOF coach what to do whether it's at training camp , practice or when ever.

Andrew I believe Don Nelson holds the GM+ Head Coach position on the mavericks.
