Timmy is back.

The last game he was really under control and attacking offensively.....which should be his role. He even got up on Battie for that vicious dunk no one said a word about in Orlando.

Why is he back?

He was the only man back on a 2 on one fast break........he was back pedaling and closed off one defender forcing the pass and then in one motion turned and blocked Wally's shot at the rim.

I believe I may have hit a Maria Carey note on that one.

Good to see. It's about freakin time. Isiah almost traded him if the Nets didn't get nosy.

Timmy's body language is alot different the last 3 games.

Let's go baby......stretch out a nice lead on the division before the all-star break.

EnySpree:

I liked Timmy playing the two, even though it wasn't for long.

It's clear Allan Houston has the leaping ability (i.e. push off for shot) of my accountant.

Like i said way back. The way Thomas played wasn't the real Thomas. Though he did deserve all the critism that he got. People were acting like thats they way he has played his whole career. But Its allways been that way with the Knicks. If Muhammad played bad for the next 2 weeks (knock on wood) then he would get blasted and he would be called a bumb and all that.

Let's not get carried away. He's playing better but, he has a heckova long way to go.

One of the reasons I like him to get more minutes at the two is out of necessity and the fact this 6'10" guy who can jump out of the gym, doesn't like to mix it up under the boards.

If I'm Lenny, I'm telling him, "you want to play, get your fingers dirty and get after it".

As far as I'm concerned, Timmy's still on double secret probation until further notice.

TT at the two makes them big and formidable. It gives Sweetney more minutes along with KT and Nazr to fortify the boards. Lastly, it gets TT more in the flow with more touches from Marbury. It seems sometimes that TT is the odd man out in terms of shots when Houston, Crawford, Marbury decide to go on a roll.
I don't see how other teams can match up with our big lineup, but conversely against a quick time this idea would have to be used in small doses.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Tell u the truth I think the difference is last season TT was making all his 3pt shots and 20 foot jumpers. He shot at like 45% and 40% from 3. He was very effective as a shooter last season. So I think this season he started to settle for those shots that weren't falling. Now he is playing more aggressive taking the ball to the basket.

... of course he shot better last year.

The longer term problem of TT however is he's gotten the "soft" label throughout his career and unfortunately, thus far, he's earned it.

p.s. in my opinion, TT is NOT a three point shooter and should limit his attempts from behind the arc. He should concentrate on continuing his efforts to get open 15-20 footers. To me, that's the range that best suits him and with Steph, he'll get the open shots.

I never herd anyone say TT was soft until after last yrs playoffs. After he hurt his back made those comments but wasn't able to come back and play. He was allways known as an underachiever. The soft label is proably from his lack of rebounding.

He takes it to the whole when there is an opening and he takes big shots down the stretch.

Plus he did follow up on his comments vs Martin though it was childish by challenging to a boxing match.

A lot of people including Ray Allen accused him of being soft and an underachiever. Point is, he's hasn't come close to fulfilling his "potential" and until last night and a very few bright moments, this season for him as been an unmitigated disaster.

Let's hope he continues to find his role, relax and improve. We'll be a lot better team if he does.

I wonder what made him decide to play? Maybe it's himself realizing that Crawford is gone for a while so somebody else has to score. If only he could realize that he could have done that anyway when Crawford was here too. I hope he keeps up playing like this; it seems like he wants to play now

Same thing happend when Houston went down last season. TT stepped up.

Also TT shot 40% from 3pt line as a knick last yr. I don't know why its not falling this season but I do agree he should take less attempts because there not falling.

i believe i said this in the summmer already, one of my reasons for not getting crawford was to play timmy at the 2 if needed. And to develop also ariza.
