I know this can't be done straight up, but can we trade Kurt for a player and a 1st round pick. The NBA Draft for 2005 is in New York, and we need to make some noise. Do you think there will be some sort of trade in where Isiah will make a move to a ****ty team and get their 1st round pick back?

i don't see any team giving up a possible lottery pick to get Kurt Thomas...i think your only hope would be to trade KT to a playoff contender who's looking to shore up their frontcourt for the stretch run, & get an expiring contract & a mid-late 1st round pick.

I've meant to post regarding that trade that fell through (Rose & Pick for Thomas) last year that I wonder if Isiah was looking to do another deal that fell through and that's why the Rose/pick for KT deal fell through...

the malik rose & 1st round pick offer was only on the table when KT's contract was expiring.

the mavs' pick would be what, a pick in the mid-high 20's? i don't know...it's probably not a deal Isiah would make imho...he would want more value for KT i think...i don't think he's interested in picks as much as he is in getting NBA players who can make an impact right now.

pretty sure the Mavs traded their #1 next year but who knows. To me it depends on when and who. If you could get Swift with the MLE somehow then moving KT for Booth is a nobrainer. Maybe you get Steven Hunter with the MLE, use Nazr in a S&T for Swift then trade KT for Booth. Then you look like
pf Sweetney/Swift
c Hunter/Booth
and you are much improved in terms of size, athleticism and shot blocking

Then what happens to our famous Pick n Roll? Imagine Marbury wit' a healthy Ewing and Allan? Dangerous.

I would like to see KT swapped for Malik Rose and a draft pick. Malik Rose would complement the Knicks well along the lines of JYD and a pick for next year might get us some help.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Under-appreciated Kurt Thomas is quietly having an excellent season, perhaps becoming the most consistent Knick and taking himself off the trading block.

Back in August, when The Post first reported that the 'Wolves had contacted the Knicks about a Thomas-for-Wally Szczerbiak deal, it was pointed out that team president Isiah Thomas would be foolish to give up a power forward for a swingman, considering the makeup of the Knicks' roster.

did you see kurt thomas playing tonight? the way he defended kg? its unbelievable that you'd trade him for a pick...or even rose and one of the last picks in the 1st round. he is almost automatic with his jumpshot and off the pick and roll. malik rose is trash, hes another mediocre power forward. a deal like that could ruin this team.
