KG, the NBA's best player (arguably) and the return of Latrell Sprewell to the Garden. Discuss!

hopefully Steph doesnt revert to being one of the worst defensive guards in the NBA. If he can outplay Sam we have a good shot. Garnett is unstoppable, but we have some other matchups we can do well with.

First things first, why isn't this sticky'ed?

Sam always seems to play very well against us, he really likes playing in the garden, but I am not worried about his dribble penetration, I am far more concerned about his herky-jerky-rock-you-to-sleep-so-I-can-bang-this -jumpshot-in-your-mouth-game.

KG is KG and it seems likely that JYD will see a lot of minutes so that he can herass the heck out of him, and hopefully make him play beneath his averages. We played them good in the begining of the year and they aren't playing so good this year.

Lets pull this one out Knicks!!!

Do we really need this kind of negativity? The guy said this is him from now on so lets just assume that he means what he said. He played superb on both ends against a top PG in the league last night!!!

He will destroy sam, there is no way that sam can guard him he is way too slow, that matchup will spark our offense once again. I'd like to see Nazzy more involved too. This will be a real test for TT. If his jumper is falling great, but if it aint and KG is guarding him, it could very well be a long night for him.

If the Knicks play like they did last night this will be a W.

Timmy seems ready to have a season best game. I'm rooting for the guy to torch Wally inside and out.....he's still on my poo poo list.
Like all games....Timmy is the X factor. I don't see anyone on the T-Wolves that can guard Timmy except Garnett.

Marbs should have a big game.....

Houston vs. Spree is gonna be sweet. Sprewell might erupt.....dude has had a terrible season so far. He'll all of a sudden be on fire.

The Knicks have really got to work the bigs.....Sweets and JYD need to play tonight. Nazr also should have a decent game.

I'm predicting a win. Go Knicks!!!

Watch out for freakin' Fred Hoiberg!!!! He is an annoying mofo!!!!

Hopefully Steph will hold Sam to a low FG% like he does to most PGs

T.T is good, but it think we have 2 X-Factors on the team. Houston and Marbury. If both of those guys are on then we have an almost guaranteed win. T.T can score all he wants, but Marbury and Houston will destroy any kind of defense thrown at tha Knicks when they are on. And they will make things easier for everyone else because that will spread the floor.

I think everyone's dream come true would be Sweetney getting KG into early foul trouble and hopefully fouling out.

I am very curious to see how my favorite Knicks will perform tonight at the garden. We all know that KG will be on top of his game as usual, and as he goes so goes the Wolves. Now, the question is: will our top gun (Marburry) establish himself as our source of energy? He said after the game versus Orlando that he was going to be very aggressive from this point on, if that is the case, we should all brace ourselves for a fun ride. We have some guys in our team like JYD, Ariza, Sweetney, which bring it every night from the bench, if Marburry can anchor the starting lineup as our energy guy we will definitely be a fun team all around.
We all know that KG will get his, but will our boys be smart enough to play team defense to shut or reduce the effectiveness of the other players? Personally, I think we can. If Marb harrass the ball handler and makes it difficult for Cassell to be effective, that will reduce his scoring abilities. Houston will have a tough time guarding Spree, but a combo of Ariza and Houston can definitely shut him down. TT has been doing a decent job defensively; will he be able to minimize Wally's emotions to play at home in front of his friends and families? I think that he can. All he has to do is play physical and most of all attack the basket which can force both KG and Wally to get in foul trouble. Nazr and Kurt will have their hands foul all night, therefore, Lenny should consider playing Vinny some tonight. JYD should provide some much needed energy to slow down the combo of Wally and KG. He should be the main man to replace TT at the 3, and Sweetney should back up Kurt at the 4. We should retain our rotation. There is no reason for Lenny to make any match up changes. It is time for him to have a little trust on his boys. Now, if they are not performing, by any mean change the rotation. However, too many changes can prove to be more of a chemistry killer than anything else.

Starting lineup:

Marb
Houston
TT
Kurt
Nazr

Coochie
Ariza
JYD
Sweetney
Vinny

If Coochie can't guard Hudson when he is in the game, put Brewer in there to shut him down. Hudson is a streaky shooter, once he gets it going, he is hard to stop. Therefore, Brewer's defense will be the ex-factor in tonight's game. Whether or not Lenny is awake enough to realize it is remained to be seen.

If TT played better defense, I'd rather see him start out guarding KG than Kurt- Kurt is fine on the blocks, out out on the perimeter, his slowness is apparant and exploited.

This is one of those games where I kinda wished Lenny would start JYD and have him play against Garnett- like most players, if they get out to a good start, they get in a rhythm. Thus- set the tone early and try to stop their best player- KG.

Easier Said than done. If Lenny starts JYD, then who is going to defend KG's post up? Certainly not JYD. That's why Kurt is on him because atleast he has help in the perimeter. You can't help anyone if KG establishes a postup downlow. He's *almost as unstoppable there as Shack, and Tim Duncan when he's hot. To sum it all up, there aren't any real answers for KG. He's just one of those players that is going to get his regardless.

Agreed. JYD I think should start this game to set the pace for defending KG. I think Houston is going to have a tough time guarding Spree as Houston still isnt 100% and Spree is just quicker in general. Overall, Steph and Houston have to score in the backcourt and Nazr and Thomas must watch the fouls and get good blocks (Thomas has been good with the clean blocks lately) so who knows, we'll see what happens, too tough to call!

The strategy to guard KG should be very simple, just let him score the damn ball and double everyone else. He is going to get his normal production any damn way. Especially playing in the mecca. Kurt should provide help defense on everyone else and basically allow KG to do his thing. One man can't beat you
