WALKER MAY GROW IN GARDEN

The Knicks will keep an eye on what the Hawks do with Antoine Walker, who attracted Isiah Thomas' interest last July.

The Hawks reportedly are willing to deal him. Walker will be a free agent this summer if he doesn't get a contract extension, and reportedly Boston and Philly were close to making offers.

Walker told The Post in November he thought the Knicks had parameters of a deal worked out with Dallas last July, but owner Mark Cuban pulled out when he lost Steve Nash to free agency.

The Knicks' dilemma, however, is they need an upgrade on defense, and Walker is not known for that aspect. Isiah kept his top defender, Kurt Thomas, out of Vince Carter offers, so he may do the same here. Tim Thomas is a contract match but still has one year after this one left on his pact. Both Tim Thomas and Penny Hardaway will be attractive pawns in the summer when they enter their final year.

Isiah fancies players who grew up in his hometown Chicago. Walker admitted recently he'd consider the Knicks as a free agent. "It's the mecca of basketball," Walker said. "It's a great place to play. It's where you make your statement as a player."

i have no problems getting toine, if our center is duncan and our sf is artest.

this guy brings alot of offense but ZERO defense. completely the opposite of what we need. 2 players on the court with questionable shot selection (craw, toine)? man, we'd all have gray hair by half time.

BUT if isiah is trying to become pheonix east, then he needs to follow up a toine deal with a curry/dalembert/kwame deal. say F the defense and try to outscore everybody.

He wants a team of all chuckers. Thats why he is interested in Walker. Go for it. With Crawford, Marbury and Walker there won't be a shot they didn't like.

You are very correct. Walker has no business being in orange and blue. What Isiah needs to do is get Sweetney minutes and this team will rise to the top. If he does want to make a move then I would suggest making a move for Wilcox, Nene, Brown to help this team. Walker is nothing but a chuck.

I've said it before that Zeke looks out for guys from Chi-town and guys who had similar issues that's close to his own family problems. Alcohol failures(Baker), mom's drug dependency(brewer).

Also Zeke wants another entertainer(A.Walker-shimmy shake) to go along with Marbury (street cred-rucker) and Crawfish Ruckerstyle , JYD(WRESTLING) etc... .

Can I say the World's most famous arena MSG becoming a circus Venue.

If we get Walker I think they are moving him to SF. He would be taken to the hoop at all times by smaller SF but he would also give them troubles in the post.

They had a good balance of Offense and Defense. They are more of an offensive team tho.

Folks- Antoice is a very good player stuck on a very bad team- if he has looked bad this year, its been a case of him having to do too much. On this team, he might have some of his turnovers/bad shots decrease.

If he comes here, it depends on what we trade for him- definite upgrade

but- we're already a team of various misfitting parts stuck together- I am not sure that adding Walker fixes that...
