if Mickael Pietrus came with him? KT for those two works $$$ wise. Piet gives us a guy that can guard 1s, 2s and 3s rebound, run and did I mention he's dedicated to playing D?

Foyal's contract is a travesty bugt I'm looking at a 2 year plan, and this could actually save us big $$$. Rather than being forced into using TT or Penny's expiring deals to upgrade theit spots we get a guy cheap in Piet who's in his rookie contract. You can just let their $30mm come off the books.

Then you have
Crawford 24, Piet 22, Ariza 19, Sweetney 22. 3 of your young guys are defensive oriented. Foyal's deal is bad but at least he's big and blocks shots. Nothing wrong with have a bench player that can do that. He also plays D and is one of the NBA's good guys.

two problems with that.

first, GS will never, ever trade KT for pietrius.

Second, if you do somehow get him, you might as well get rid of ariza cuz he will never play. and that one thing that shouldn't happen.

but, all things being equal, id do that deal so fast, id probably drool on the contract while signing. we can drop penny and tim for a young big, and wed have a young player at every position.

Mr big
Sweets
Peitrius
Crawford
Steph

Kt keeps us in games for now. He is too valuable. We would be even weaker with out him, which is fine if your rebuilding.

Are we willing to lose now? That curious Buzz would drop off.

Im game.

here's the thing. GS saves a ton of money because of Foyals contract. Foyal is averaging 2 points a game and playerl ike 11 minutes. Piet is playing about 15 minutes a game and GS has Jason Richardson signed long term. Neither of these guys fits into their plans right now. Foyal was a huge mistake.

As for Crawford, Ariza and Piet both can play the 2/3, so there is no reason they cant all play 30 minutes a night each.

i'd have to say no to this one.

i don't know too too much about pietrus but we have ariza already and a swingman like mike who's a defensive specialist can be found in the draft. maybe not easily but can be. i'd rather do that than take back foyle. i know we need to move KT but i'd hold out for a better deal or take back a bad deal with similar years. foyle will be here 2 years longer cutting into the years we're supposedly be getting some sort of cap relief. we still need to work towards that goal of being somewhat near the cap ultimately. but with that said, if we move ariza in a deal for a big (like nazr+ariza for dalembert/kwame), then we'll need pietrus and this deal becomes more palpable.

KT's extension is tough. we'll see how valuable he really is b/c i hope that isiah is shopping him hard. his deal seems fair but if his stock is much lower than we think it is, then moving him would be very tough.

what needs to happen is that isiah needs to come to the conclusion that sweetney is the guy. you know, i'm starting to think that he is thinking that way and the only reason kurt is still getting heavy minutes is to pump up his value for the deadline. i hope that's the case otherwise he needs to bite the bullet and tell lenny that sweetney's starting.

I think Foyle would be another Muhammad for us probably without the little offensive game but a way better shot blocker. The guy had 6rebs 2.5blks in 22mins in 2002. He averages 1.3blks 3.5rebs in 15mins now. He would thrive with us just as Muhammad has. He would make us a better defensive team. He will be like Muhamad when he had only 8pts but had 8blks vs the Nets and made a huge impact in our defense. Its extremely hard to play D without a shotblocker that the guards can lead there men to. When the team needs a defensive boost he can come in for Muhammad and provide that shotblocking.

Id prefer Dalembert of course but depending on what we get Foyle for I think he would fit in nicley with us him and Muhammad would make a quality tandem at center.

As for a Crawford-Ariza-Peitrus future 2-3 rotation. They would need to improve there shooting but it would be very athletic.

if you want to take back a big deal then make a deal with memphis for stro and dickerson. dickerson has like $25 mil left on his deal through 07/08. trade tim/penny for stro and dickerson. saves memphis around $20 mil not counting what they have to pay stro to keep him.

what I like about it is we dont give up any of the pieces I'm looking to use to aquire big men this offseason. We get a 6'6 220lb guard forward who's passionate about shutting down whoever he is guarding. He's a 22 year old James Posey. Think about what Josh Howard did the other night.

we still have all the expiring contracts and our draft picks for next year. We get a very valueable piece that can help right away for KT who doesnt have the best future here anyway.

Stro cant be traded this year and Dickerson is getting paid by insurance after this year (he's retired)

Kt would really help GS and yes I would do this deal. Pietrus can play some SG, so he won't really hurt Ariza's development, and it is not out of the picture for GS, they just gave a lot of money to richardson and murphy, so go figure..
Folye will give us defense, we have enough scoring options..
Good trade fishmike..

Yeah, I would do it. It also gives us an opportunity to start Sweetney, along with bringing in a young defensive player.
