I read Phili isnt "quite" ready to trade him yet, regarding the Net's inqueries. If NJ got Sam I might walk to MSG and poop infront of the exec offices. this is one the Knicks cant afford to let happen.

If there is ANY chance of this guy getting traded he is somebody you better be willing to overpay for.

Give then Nazr and Ariza for Kenny Thomas and Dalembert. Phili has a lot of bad contracts in McKie, Kenny Thomas, Kevin Ollie, Brian Skinner. Take back one of these guys for Dalembert. Send them Nazr. This guy's value is at its peek, thats when you make these deals.

Nets can give them the Clippers #1 pick this year + their exemptions

I know... they are in position to do some good thing with that. It bothers me. If Dalembert goes there they will be better than they were last year even with KMart.

our only chance is if we take bad contracts in return. we have to severely overpay for any type of deal during the season.

our best chance and best deal will come after the season is over.

nj has a REAL shot at becoming the best team in the east with a deal this season. tons of money in trade exception and picks. i think if they can't get dalembert/curry/chandler or any of the usual suspects, they may be better of moving that kittles trade exception for SAR as a stop gap.

check that... The Nets only have the trade exception. The Kittles deal for for a future #2 from the Clippers. No #1s were in that deal. They got 3 #1's from Denver and used two of them (I assume the one was next year) in the VC trade.

Right now they have their own #1 and a future #1 from Denver.

i think there was a window of opportunity for curry, but that closed.

i think there are probably 10 clubs that would give up for dalembart, and i think that we dont have as much to offer+ there is solid risk giving up nazr.

i say be patient and do everything possible to get Steven hunter in the OS--pheonix has $$$ problems with JJ and no team will offer more than the MLE for a player who wasnt very good his first few years and still plays only 15 or so minutes. I believe Hunter can be another dalembart, but i think hes a better offensive player. the only thing wed have to give up is $$$ its his player option.

we need to look at moving KT while there is still value. every time i believe there is solid opportunity to move him, they become complacent and over rate what they have.

"The two first-round selections sent to Toronto were originally acquired from Denver as part of a trade made this past summer."

Thats from ESPN. So NJ has their own #1 this year and thats it. They have a future #2 from the Clippers and a future #1 from the Nuggets. No real goldmines there. Remember they can only use the trade exception on one player, not a group of players.

Briggs.. there is risk in trading NAzr but wouldnt you take that on Dalembert? I agree with you on Hunter and that option is still out there.

You lose Nazr but I'm looking to parlay him into a S&T for Dalembert anyhow.

Although their chances of landing Samuel Dalembert are not very good, the Nets could try to get involved in a three-way deal for the Philadelphia center. League sources said the Nets have spoken to Philadelphia, but the 76ers may not be ready to move the Seton Hall product yet. If they do, they probably would want a big man, which the Nets don't have. The third team could either be Chicago, which is willing to part with Eddy Curry, or Phoenix.

Muhammad would definatly be key for us to have any chance of landing Dalembert. And O'brien coached Muhammad at Kentucy. I don't know if they want to unload salary or if they want young talent or draft picks as well Zeke just better get on the phone.

Why do I get the feeling that Dalembert is not even on ITs radar?

Nazr is the logical candidate to offer up in any deal for Dalembert...no matter how well Nazr is playing these days, you HAVE to make that deal...offer up Nazr & Sweetney for Dalembert & Kenny Thomas...that's a deal they may actually agree to imho...Ariza won't interest them when they already have Iguodala.

Dalembert is not what the Knicks need.....especially if Nazr is playing the way he is.

Knicks need to either start Sweets or look to trade KT and Timmy to upgrade the 3-4 spots....

Last year it was Dampier.....What is Damp doing now?

What does Nazr have to do for fans to respect what he is doing?

Dalembert is a good jumping jack......the only thing he does better than Nazr is blocking shots. It would be a lateral move.

KT and Timmy are the weak links.

I don't know if I would say Dalembert has ton of upside- he certainly would help in the shot blocking dept-

If it were a Nazr for Dalembert trade- not sure I would do that...

I agree that if Sam Dam is available, you have to try. But I'd rather keep Ariza and Nazr and upgrade the 4 spot. Would the Clip Show trade Wilcox at the draft for the Knicks 1st pick and Sweets? (The Knicks can't trade their pick, but they can draft someone and immediately trade him).

Marbury
Crawford/Houston
Ariza/TT
Wilcox
Nazr

then the only real hole is back up center, and they can grab someone for the MLE.

How does it not make sense??? Dalembert is younger, just as athletic, possibly just as good of an offensive player, and makes Nazr look 5 years old, when it comes to defense. Nazr will never be the defensive beast that we need, while Dalembert can. He's the type of guy that can block out the Okafors of the world on the boards and can keep guys from penetrating b/c of his shotblocking. If you get a chance for Dalembert, you GO FOR HIM. Again, why the hell do I have a feeling that this kid is nowhere NEAR Isiahs radar.

Nazr for Dalembert would be a bad move. I agree with EnySpree. What does Nazr need to do to get respect. He has done everything that has been asked of him. People said he can't play defense and yet he has shown vast improvments in blocks and steals. He is a steady double-double guy and is ranked 2nd in offensive rebounds. Get Dalembert and play him with Nazr. That I can take.

who says Nazr isnt getting respect? IMO he's getting too much respect by suggesting the Phili wold consider trading Sam for him.

Dalembert average 12/12 and 4 blocks in his last 25 games last year. This guy has Deke type potential as a defender and shotblocker. NOBODY is afraid to drive the lane when Nazr is patrolling it. Also Nazr's blocks come off put backs and other team's offensive rebounds. When was the last time you saw an opposing guard drive the lane only to have his shot repelled by Nazr? It just doesnt happen. Nazr isnt and will never be that type of player. Hes a great hard worker and hustle guy and he's a undersized at C. Dalembert is a legit 7 footer with long arms and the ability to make opposing guards change their shots.
