and it's not subbing out tim.
it's putting in sweetney!!!

doc had the balls to start jefferson tonight b/c he clearly knows that he's the future PF of the organization.

i can't take watching kurt start and getting torched by every PF in the league. i don't care what #'s he puts up b/c the way he scores doesn't change the game. sweetney's does b/c he's a low post player. start him lenny. we're not going to win anything this season. let's start developing.

no one will be mad. i promise :)

I 100% agree. If we have to loose, at least it must be useful for our future.

That alone is a good enough reason to fire Lenny.

Yeah I agree. At least for some games. If he proves he isn't prepared for heavy minutes, then everybody in NY will know it and accept it. But at least make the experiment, try it and see what happens. What do we have to lose? More games? We are already losing them wit Lenny and taking nothing positive out of them. Make it happen...

Guess Lenny is too dumb and stubborn to make it happen...

here is the thing... what if Lenny already went through that process? Early in the season Sweets was getting minutes and he was fouling alot. What if coach already told him to focus on one aspect of the defensive side of things, and when he gets it right, he gets more minites. And maybe he is messing it up and we dont know it.

could be.

there is a fundamental problem with starting Sweetney and Lenny knows it. NONE of our wing players have shown they can defend against dribble penetration. Sweetney still isnt comfortable on help defense. Thats going to have him on the bench 4 minutes into the game.

Sweetney just needs time. His man to man is probably better than KT's right now because of his size and reach. I watch Sweetney very closly when I saw him play live and in man to man play he defended Boozer and Okur VERY well. He still has mental lapses with boxing out and like I said he's lost on help defense.

martin, it's possible but as a 2nd year player, don't you think he still needs to be out there to grow and learn. b/c he's been literally getting benched. whenever he gets extended minutes, he makes a contribution in a way that nobody else does, be it post up offense, or getting to the line. he has to learn defense but how else will he? by guarding kurt in practice? nope, he needs to be on the floor.

fish, sweetney needs minutes, in the 25+ range every night. no matter if he starts or comes off the bench. obviously there's something wrong that lenny doesn't like, probably his defense but he really needs to be on the floor. for the past 4 years, we've been talking about getting a low post big man and we finally have one, so let's use him.

what's more important now, living through sweetney's growing pains or giving kurt 30+ minutes for a .500 team?

I disagree, Kurt's man to man defense is good the problem with Kurt is he's a great help defender but doesn't have the quickness to get back on his player leaving him wide open for a dunk or offensive rebound.
