Even though Desmond Mason has more upside I would hold on to Kurt right now untill TT can be unloaded. It leaves us without someone who can hit a mid-range jumer consistantly

so lose ariza for nothing?

we don't need him if we get mason, but shouldn't we then try to move him in a deal as well?

how about kurt + ariza + cash + 2nd round pick for mason + gadzuric?

I dont think Mason is realistic, but we are i2i on Hunter. If Hunter isnt available I would make an offer to Eddie Griffin.

I think packaging Nazr w/ expiring deals is big also, ESPECIALLY if you can get Hunter.

How about Nazr/Moochie/Baker + cash + Houston's #2 (all expiring deals) for Dalembert (5 years $50) and Kevin Ollie.

Or a similar deal for Stro Swift.

I would rather give the 2 yr LLE to Ariza and lock up his Bird rights.

At some point, we HAVE to get value out of KT. Id be very willing to do it this year because Im willing right now to play Mike Sweetney 35 minutes. We can use TT as a back up 4 and give the back up 3 minutes to Ariza.

I dont think Griffin is coming here and I wouldnt spend that type of money on him with his backround. On top of that, I believe Minnesota is willing to ante up with him for an MLE and I think the best place for him is the boondocks of Minnesota.

Swift is a definite posibility for the MLE, but I want a 7 foot player. Every time I see a good 7 footer I realize how much of a difference one would be. I dont think he can command more than that--I think its spending the money wisely. Im pretty much dead set on it.

Steven Hunter====MLE
Wayne Simien=draft pick
trade Kurt thomas for a athletic SF
Sign a cheap back up PG who is athletic
Ariza can take over for TT when he is gone. I like Ariza off the bench and we should be able to sign him to a 4-5 yr extension after next year if he improves.

you really think Swift is a MLE player? When guys like Boozer and Okur are getting $9-$10mm a year?

I just dont see that but OK

Im convinced that Simien is this years Carlos Boozer. He's out again for 6 weeks with a ligament in his thumb, but the inuries he has sustained have all been in areas that dont matter long term-shoulder, thumb--those heal fine. You are talking about a guy who really is unstoppable in the post, very athletic for his size--hes a better spot up shootet then sweetney--runs the flor like a deer at nearly 260 and can really explode on the basket with a solid vertcail lift. he sure is a true 4, hes not a 4-5--but i think we need to move Sweetney to starting 4, bring in Hunter who is a true 7 foot--who can also play with nazr going big. You have to be realistic where you are picking--we dont have pick 6 were likely pick 16--around there. Its possible that Simien could overtake Sweetney quickly--thats how high i am on him.

geez man did you see the Dallas game? KT was super uneffective. He was exposed. KT is a solid player but the Knicks are not winning the big one with him on this team. Hitting the Mid-Range jumper consistantly should be something Timmy, Craw and Houston should be able to do.....KT doesn't do much more than rebound and shoot that jumper.

if we can pick up a second middle round pick in the first id rather have nate robinson than murray for back up PG, but would be happy with murray if we could get him.
