What I dont understand is that why he doesnt do all this stuff more often? We saw him do it in 1999 in his contract year. The video is proof that he can do it cause its ON VIDEO! It's not like some Houston fans say "he cannot do it" or that he "lacks the physical ability to do it"! He can play defense, he can dribble, rebound and he can pass as shown in the video!

Why does he be lazy and only jump shoot when he can do so much more? Either way, I cannot get on him too much after what he did in the Philly game. He is looking to pass a little more this year and he will be effective on this team as the 3rd scoring option behind Stephon and Craw. All I gotta say is, 'Thank God for Stephon!'

Yup. Unfortunately, he is getting older like the rest of us. He can't move like that anymore. He still has his J though.

Also, great to see LJ again. Does anyone have a link for an LJ highlight film. Right now my only avenue is that Whoopie Goldberg "Eddie" movie and he is a Hornet. GRRR!

Amazing! He got older right after he signed that contract! Either that or he stopped trying after he signed that contract.

It brought back memories of the 1999 run. The silky jumper or Allan Houston, and the team that they had back then. The underdogs. And Allan really showed that he was fearless. Five years later, he's mediocre after the knee surgery. For me to change my mind, he has a lot to prove.

Huh? He started showing his age last year and even then he was a scoring machine. When did he sign the big contract? Also, he didn't ask for that contract. Checketts gave it to him. I don't think Allan is stupid to say "You should pay me less because that is my actual value". Do you? Allan tries to play defense. He always gives it his all. He has limitations, yes, but I choose to see what he has given to us and what he can offer right now. He is a Knick in the truest form and for that I am thankful.

Allan's play has impressed since his return. Guess my reading on this site had colored my memory of him. His ability to get off his shot is unusual. His passing has looked very good. And he still has the sweetest looking swish in the NBA. Yeah, he doesn't go to the hole, but if he can get off his shot when covered and make a good %, we don't need him going to the hole. His defense hasn't looked so bad either, except against Harping (got to be judicious about putting him at SF). Sure, there are other players I'd rather have for the $ he gets, but I'm thrilled he's back. He'll help us a lot and already has.

I agree that his passing has been very good, and he hasn't looked too one dimensional. He is getting his teammates involved. But while he does try on defense a good portion of the time, he gets killed often, by a guy like Harpring, and he just can't guard the faster players. That's why we need a shotblocker.

I would like to see him more aggresive on his cuts though, particularly when he wants to get the ball.

And when he ison the bench, don't be such a slouch. He was so joyful when he was in his street clothes. He's gotto be like that in his uni, whether he's getting playing time or not.

ALLAN HOUSTON IS A "TRUE KNICK"
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
