Big trade here.......

Lamar Odom and Jamal Mashburn to New York

Baron Davis to the Lakers

Vin Baker, Tim Thomas, Kurt Thomas, and Jumaine Jones to New Orleans

Mash may never play again yet he has a reletively short contract. It would be nice for him to be back in NY even if he never plays again. He could easily sit on the bench.

Odom and Marbury played well in the Olympics and they basically grew up together having come up around the same time playing basketball in the city. Odom is long, athletic, and will help out defensively and won't take away from the rebounds we lose from KT. Odom does it all.....but it doesn't seem like the Lakers are a good fit for him.

New Orleans have been ravaged by injuries and Baron wants out. They already have a slew of young points. They could used the extra bodies to kind of fill out the roster and prepare them for the lottery years ahead of them.

Baron wants to be a Laker. Kobe and Baron together? Rudy let Cuttino and Mobley shoot when they wanted......imagine what Baron and Kobe would do together?

What do you guys think?

lakers wouldn't trade odom for a star PG with injury problems. And No way they trade him and jumaine jones for him alone. No way. It just doesn't make any sense at all for them. Its ridiculous for them.

NO and Ny do it though.

That i don't understand....
I thought the first complaint would be that New Orleans gets screwed.

Like you said Baron is a star. With Baron and Kobe they would be awesome in the back court. Brian Cook, Walton, Mihm, Caron Butler.....they have some good pieces to fit around them. Why wouldn't they do it?

Getting Baron would really make them a deadly team. Odom won't be missed. Odom has looked uncomfortable and has said alot of slick remarks about the way Kobe chucks.

I made the trade up so obviously I'm gonna think it's perfect but.......

.......for once I think I can say it and actually mean it.

I like it. Anything that gets rid of TT I am all for. Plus, you get Lamar Odom.
Our lineup would be...

C-Nazr
PF-Odom
SF-Houston
SG-Crawford
PG-Marbury

OR

C-Nazr
PF-Sweetney
SF-Odom
SG-Crawford
PG-Marbury

Not bad!

The Hornets can get more for Baron and the Lakers are better off with a healthy Odom than Baron. Kobe plays like a point (i.e., he handles the ball a lot) and is better off with a star forward than a star PG on his team.

Maybe he would be better off.....but Odom is not that guy.

Kobe dominates the ball......but Baron would allow Kobe to play off him and stick to what he does rather than have to look for the big man.

New Orleans probably could get more for Baron but they might as well tear that sum biotch open cuz besides Baron they have nothing.....at least with the guys I mentioned New Orleans can put out a compeditive group and allow the young guys to play and see which direction they want to go in.

Easy....

Sweetney, Odom, Nazr, Marb, Craw will start.....wow!!!
Houston will come in off the bench in his new Dell Curry role.

Really? What happened? I didn't see yesterday's game, but the Knicks won. I suspect that Houston can guard some small forwards but noth others.

NO will want expiring contracts if theyre gonna dump Davis.

I say switch Penny for Vin or KT, and add in Magloire and sweets, play Nazr at the PF. Give em any picks they want if its gonna get us Odom. Dude is smooooooth. Plays like TT without the Gazy,

Steph
Crawford
Odom
Nazr
Magloire.

Sloan was screaming for them to post him up and Harpring was killing ?Houston.

Houston's jumper is good but he should keep his current role. Odom in NY would end that right away. Craw does so much stuff on th ecourt and he scares the heck out of the team he plays cuz he could put 25, 30, 40, or 50 on you at anytime.

I think i might need a towel......i believe i soiled my pants

Anyway. Only way NO do it is if they are in blowup mode, and even then, they can probably get shorter contract for than. So keep em clean 'Spree

Nazr 26
Magloire 26.

NO would not let Magloire go in this type of trade. They would be better off to build around him.....

With my trade they could start KT, Nailon, Magliore when he gets healthy, Dickau, and Wesley.....they could be respectable and still have Timmy, JR Smith, their other young points, PJ Brown, Lynch......they would be better off.

The Lakers on the other hand could start to ride Brian Cook as the starting 4. They won't miss a beat then all of a sudden Chucky Atkins turns to Baron for the stretch run.....Roses!!!!

I really like this trade
