Portland, and get NJ involved.

NY trades TT
NY recieves ZO, Patterson

Port trade Derrick Anderson, Patterson
Port recieves TT

NJ trades ZO
NJ recieves Derrick Anderson

Port saves money as both DA and Patterson have an extra year than TT. This will also allow them to swing Miles to the 2 and play a big line up if they want. Patterson has wanted out and Port hasnt been able to find a taker for his 3 years and statutory rape "issues."

NJ moves Zo who doesnt play much and get a wing player that can play all 3 spots on the perimeter with the same contract as Zo. Remember the Nets are playing a bunch of NBDL guys out there

NY gets defense. We get a guy at the 3 who's mission is to stop other wings players and bang. We get Zo who we can afford to pay to play 50 games and 15-20 minutes. Both these guys add wins and toughness.

I cant see a reason NJ or Port wouldnt do this, unless NJ just doesnt want Zo to go to NY, but they did pay Deke $12mm knowing he would be with us so I dont see the big deal there. Just makes too much sense for everyone involved.

I like it because it allows us to start Houston to SF with a reliable shut down G-F to back him & Crawford up. Plus Patterson's clean up allways stay around the basket and do the dirty work style fits in well with the Marbury, Houston, Crawford tio. Zo is excatly what we need like ive said before. And has more value than TT right now.

i don't see NJ taking on DA's $26 million left on his contract...they will make due w/the scrubs they have at SG & wait until next year before they spend any money.

TMS.. they have to pay Zo EXACTLY that anyway. Why not add a guy that will actually play a whole season and give them real minutes? The Nets add ZERO dollars in this trade and move one guy that they ONLY signed because Kidd wanted them too, for a guy that clearly upgrades their roster.

I would but I Port wouldnt. Rahim's value as an expiring contract is huge for them. Remember, by signing Zach and Ratliff they lost their cap space for next year, so Rahim's expiring contract will be their main chip to improve the team. I dont think TT/KT are the kind of pieces they are looking to get back.

actually, they only owe Zo $16 million...so it would be taking on an extra $10 million in salary over the next 2 & 1/2 seasons...i just don't think it falls in line w/their moves over the past offseason.

I see that... I wonder why the trade worked then. Maybe a bug in the checker?

I wonder if the deal actually works $$ wise then. Still, its not so much money where NY and or Port couldnt work cash or something to make it fly. NJ gets a clear roster upgrade and a good player next to Jefferson. They have to pay *someone*

i think the best trade for NJ to make is to get rid of Jason Kidd & get back some good players w/expiring contracts & more 1st round picks...

they should revisit that trade w/POR for Rahim & maybe a Darius Miles in exchange for Kidd & a filler contract like Aaron Williams...i think something like that would make sense for them to make.
