All I hear is Kwame, Curry, Dalembert, but who Isiah should really be after is Chris Wilcox. He fits this team perfectly, unlike the other guys has a strong work ethic....

Why?

He blocks shots
He can dunk from anywhere inside the free throw line
He rebounds
He is fun to watch
He will average 18pts 12rbs 3blocks within two years

Then you don't need to trade Crawford and you have a player that players like Camby put is more durable and finishes around the basket...He is a monster...Trade Naz for him now, he will put up comparable numbers and be a great building block

Now
Marbury/Brewer
Craw/Houston
Tim/Ariza/Penny
Kurt/JYD
Wilcox/Sweets

Future

Marbury
Crawford
Ariza
Sweetney
Wilcox

You get better defensively and someone that runs the floor like a guard, looks a little like the Suns...

I highly doubt we get any of those players. We can make up scenarios, but those are tough commodities. We dont have draft picks or ending contracts. As for the Clippers, they have 0 to trade with us.

The rumor last week was Dunleavy Jr. getting traded to the clippers and they would be giving up simmons and wilcox, so i am pretty sure the clippers are dumb enough to do anything...

If you have to move Ariza you do it....Wilcox is special already

we had a great chance for Wilcox but Layden opted for McDyess instead. Its like Briggs said.. what do we have that they would want? we have no cheap players and they have no bad contracts for us to absorb. Sweetney and Ariza? Would you do that?

I think something more realistic would be the draft rights to whoever we get #1 next year, TT's expiring contract and Ariza for Elton Brand. Unless the Clippers actually like making the playoffs and dont mind having an NBA payroll.

Would you trade Elton brand for Trevor Ariza? the Clippers just make it pass the minimum threshold on the salary cap, they have to pay someone! Its so hard to come by a player like elton brand it would make absolutle 0 business sense to trade him for what you described.
Actually they lose Kerry Kittles off the cap and will be in the mid to upper 20mm range again. the actually have to increase payroll by 14 mm or so. Probably take atleast an MLE to resign Simmons and they could acquire a player like gary payton for one or two years.

If for some unkown crazy reason they wanted to trade Brand, they could get a top 3 draft pick a young player+ an expiring pick. We have nothing close to that--but its a mute point, hes not going anywhere Bulls big mistake.

yeah cap wise they are only 28 mm next year
http://hoopshype.com/salaries/la_clippers.htm

they actually have to spend 16mm just to get back to the cap level they have now. In other words they have 0 need for cap relief--they are on the other end--they need to spend!

I thought what I proposed was pretty close to that. Depending on where Ariza is at. Plus they take back $14mm in one expiring contract. The thing w/ the Clippers is they are always looking to grow their reserves. Yes Brand is a stud, but especially with Wilcox getting better and Kaman coming back Brand and his $$$ will be the odd man out.

I agree. Brand is one of the guys we might be able to get next year (or this summer) with expiring contracts, picks, and Ariza or Sweetney.

1. They need a center to go with Kayman
2. They need to go out and get a free agent at the two, and Allen and Redd are availble they already have three set positions for the future they are not moving brand

They are keeping Livingston, Maggette, Brand, Kaymen, Simmons most likely....

If we sent them Naz and Ariza for Wilcox the deal makes some sense for both sides.

first of Chris Kaman is a C who has proven little. Chris Wilcox is already signed through next year. They have two wings that are as good as any two in the league this year. They could use a vet PG like gary payton and likely draft another PG to go with livingston. They will likely have a higer draft pick than us in a year that is so-so.

Elton brand is considered an elite frontcourt player. they only have 28 mm on the cap next year--they need to INCREASE their payroll--likely by signing Bobby simmons to an extension and still having atleast 8mm to spend. It amkes 0 sense,0 none to trade brand for what amounts to nothing. You dont sell tickets by trading away your best player. Just put yourself into the owners chair. you think you would take Tim Thomas Trevor Ariza and the 18 pick in the draft for Elton brand? you trade to either get out of financial mess or to get better. they dont come close to either and there are 20 teams who could offer much more. be realistic

Briggs.. they are at 28mm with only 5 guys signed. They also would be adding $$ next year if they took back TT for one year, and it would keep their cap space open if they wanted to run at Yao or someone like that. I would include Sweetney in that deal over Ariza, or give them both and keep the #1.

to bad Isiah waived Slavko...that could have been the final piece to nail down a Brand deal.

Its not ideal for LAC, but its not without advantages. Plus I have seen many worse deals than this.

The rumor last week was Dunleavy Jr. getting traded to the clippers and they would be giving up simmons and wilcox,

Baylor laughed at this reported proposal.

The Warriors were absolute morons to draft Dunleavy with the third pick of draft... and my St. John's boy, Chris Mullin was DUMB to pay this chump a king's ransom. Dunleavy Jr. STINKS!
Isiah get Wilcox!
