02/17- MORE FLUFF THAN STUFF- As we chronicled yesterday, the chances of any of the major deals your hearing actually going down are pretty slim, the only team in a serious position to move is the Knicks and Nuggets, and it appears the Knicks do have eyes for Nick Van Exel, looking at a possible 3 way deal, which sends Charlie Ward to Minnesota, Dean Garrett comes to New York, along with Nick Van Exel and Raef LaFrentz, Denver is said to receive Marcus Camby, William Avery some New York cash and a possible future draft pick, obviously from a cap point of view New York will have to part with someone else, but of all the takers on Van Exel new York appears to be the only one willing to make a deal. According to sources near the Knicks who said " They know what we are willing to offer, and if they want to make a deal its out there" Sources close to the Nuggets deny interest in Camby and say they are not close to anything. Minnesota sources say the Charlie Ward/ Dean Garrett deal was news to them, but it seemed to suit what their short term needs were, and could not discount it or confirm it either. In short it again seems like another trade deadline filled with Fluff, and not enough stuff...

I like how this sounds a lot because we are basically looking at Camby, Ward, maybe a lotto-protected pick, and extras for Van Exel, LaFrentz, and Garrett and that deal definetly benefits us.
