PG: Marbury = B minus

Pluses: Offensively he's been great (with the exception of a few stinkers). He's getting guys involved, and doing his thing when he has to.
Minuses: Defensively, there's no excuse for the player who demanded leadership responsibility to not be the one playing hardest on defense. When Marbury becomes our most consistently tenacious defender he will score an A plus.

SG: Crawford = B

Pluses: He's a lightening bolt on offense - capable of sparking a huge run all by himself. He plays the lanes well on 'D', snatching a lot of steals. He's clutch. He's young. He's athletic. He's learning.
Minuses: Who didn't question this guys shot selection? We all did for good reason. He's shown some progress in that department. Let's hope he can continue that progress and develop the ability to defend his man.

SF: T.Thomas = F

Pluses: He's not a complete waste yet. Maybe he can turn it around.
Minuses: He epitomizes the word lackadaisical.

PF: K.Thomas = B

Pluses: Everything you would expect. Hard D. Rebounding. Great mid-range shot.
Minuses: Not a low-post scoring presence.

C: Mohammed = B plus

Pluses: Surprising low-post game. Exceptional offensive rebounding. Runs the floor well. Knows how to work off of the guards. Decreased the amount of fouls he commits.
Minuses: His defense could continue to improve.

Bench:

PG: Norris = B
PG: Brewer = C
SG: Houston = I
SG: Hardaway = B+
SF: Ariza = B
PF: Sweetney = B-
PF: Williams = B
C: Baker = D
C: Sundov = I

Coach: Lenny Wilkens = C

Pluses: He plays whoever is clicking and shows confidence in our young guys as well as the vets. His offense is getting the best out of the team.
Minuses: He has to get the team to play D.

Team Overall: C+

Stephon Marbury A-

- has acted like the true leader we hoped he could be. My one complaint about Steph is, when he looks to get his teammates involved, for some reason, he tends to completely abandon his offensive output, often passing up wide open J's and I've seen him even pass up uncontested layup to make ill advised drop back passes. That being said, he's matured into a tremendous player and person in his prime. Watch the turnovers, Steph.

Jamal Crawford A-

Multi-talented player was coop for Isiah and Knicks. Will get an A when he continues to improve his shot selection. Though in fairness, he has already come a long way. Also, he's a little careless with his ball handling and passsing decisions.

Kurt Thomas A-

Has done everything asked of him. Playing his best ball with the exception of brief shooting slump for a couple of games.

Nazr Mohammed B+

Great offensive game and improved low post moves. Would like to see more on the boards but, relative to the rest of the centers out there, he was another steal. Very glad he's here and don't want to see him traded.

Tim Thomas F

A total headcase and embarrassment. What a waste of talent.

Mike Sweetney B+

If Lenny doesn't give this man more playing time, I'm going to have a heart attack. Also should be off the trade radar screen.

Trevor Ariza B

19 years old and full of talent. Obviously needs to work on J. Again, he's only 19 and should have a great future ahead. Should be off limits as far as trades are concerned.

Penny Hardaway B-

Solid from time to time. Also question his decisions as well. Better with him than without but, would love Isiah to use his magic and package him and his contract elsewhere, if it can improve the team.

Jerome Willams A-

Gotta love the energy, enthusiasm and play of the JYD! Crawford trade truly was highway robbery. You have to love Jerome Williams!

Allan Houston Inc.

I just don't want to talk about him.

Moochie Norris C-

Played better last night. Rerminds me of Howard Eisley and that's a scary thought. Mistake by Isiah that he hasn't been able to rid himself of as of yet.

Vin Baker Inc.

Should be able toget off bench from time to time

But we have have to play a good game against the Jazz and defeat them. We have to keep the momentum going and Utah is on a very bad situation right now. Its at home, right? Lets get a win!

Wowza. I usually agree with most of the things you say, but I don't really agree with most of your grades there, and am a little surprised. Why do you give KT, Ariza, Houston, Sweetney, Norris and even JYD such low grades?

They haven't done enough the time I posted it and they still haven't really done enough now. Houston can get upgraded to a D+ and will probably keep ugrading as he gets better. Sweetney with more mins could be upgraded to a C+.

this team is not the Detroit Pistons- our best d is not shutting down another team and having them score just 63pts.

Last night was good defense- there were a number of instances where KG got easy assists to team mates because their defender was staring at KG and lost their man.

I can't complain too much because KG was held largely in check.

We need to get rid of some guys who can't deal with pressure.

Nazr and KT should be dealt for someone more athletic at the 4 and 5.

THE KNICKS AS IS ARE CATCHING SOME TEAMS AT BAD TIMES AND LOOK BETTER THAN WHAT THEY REALLY ARE.
We really need to break this team up like the miami heat did.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
