So you're telling me that our best chance of winning a game is a shooter who hasn't played in months? I don't.

Other than the sheer fact that you have to guard him because he has one of the best jumpers in the NBA...of course you do

Houston can hit a 3 in his sleep. I'm actually pretty excited to see the 3 guard line up. Pho and Sea are lighting up the league with it. Rashard Lewis may be 6'10 but if you have ever seen him play for 20 seconds you can see he's just an oversized 2.

No, I wouldn't put in a player who hasn't played in 9 months. Too rusty--it's not the same as taking shots during practice.
you have to guard him
If someone hasn't played in 9 months, I wouldn't fear him taking the last shot. I'd pay attention to him, but I probably wouldn't guard him any closer than I would guard Penny or an average guard because of how rusty he is.

Did you watch JKidd play last night? He was fumbling PASSES. Timing gets off when you haven't played in a while ... And you want a player who hasn't played in a longer time to take the last shot???

This is assuming Marbs and Craw aren't having one of those nights where everything goes...I give it to him. He is the most consistant shooter we have right now.
What I do is have Marbs or Craw take the ball, penetrate, and try to dish it to Houston for the open jumper. He has the best chance of making it IMO.

exactly Matt...that's exactly what i had in mind...Marbury penetrates & you have Craw & Houston lurking on the perimeter for the kickout.

Houston is Houston.

You give him the ball, close your eyes, wait for the swish, go home.

No such thing as rust when your form is perfect. Its like riding a bike for him.

Now if only he could remember how to stay with his man......

Allan Houston would be the perfect "decoy" for the knicks in that scenario.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I agree with the others, it doesn't matter if you want him to take the last shot or not, at least let him be a huge decoy!

He also hit a clutch basket in the last minute and then assisted on the winning basket. Yoiu want to begrudge a guy taking the better part of a game to get his timing back?

Give Houston the freaking ball and get out of his way.

How many minutes did Kidd play last night??? You expect Houston to gain his "game legs" in under 24 seconds???
If... Down by 2 with 24 seconds remaining v Grizz... do you put in Houston?
