Knicks activate Houston, Norris; Hardaway, Brewer on injured list

.c The Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) - Allan Houston was activated by the New York Knicks on Tuesday after missing the team's first 16 games with a left knee injury.

The Knicks also activated Moochie Norris (left Achilles' tendinitis) and put Penny Hardaway (strained right hamstring) and Jamison Brewer (right big toe tendinitis) on the injured list.

Houston missed the playoffs and 13 of the final 14 regular-season games last season because of soreness that developed after he returned from surgery on his left knee.

With a career average of 17.5 points, he was the Knicks' leading scorer in four of the past five seasons.

The team said he was not expected to be in uniform for Tuesday night's game at Memphis. The Knicks entered that game leading the Atlantic Division at 8-8.

Brewer put on the IL?!?! Why not Sundov? I thought Jamison was playing pretty well.
Well, atleast it's good to have Houston this close to playing.

very strange move switching Moochie and Brewer. I liked Brewer off the bench for like 5.

Well, if that "right big toe tendinitis" is as bad as I've heard, they may not have had a choice.

Seriously though, I know you have to give a reason to put someone on the IL, but where do they come up with these?

Isiams never been one to give an opponent a heads up as far as game planning....the Allan won't play thing could have been a ruse.

Switching Brewer in favor of Moochie is absolutely moronic. In fact, switching anyone in favor of Moochie is absolutely moronic.

I don't get why brewer and moochie have to get in the games. if thats the case then the knicks should've went after a better backup point guard if they feel penny or jamal couldn't handle it

I like Brewer a little more, but it's about as much of a "non-impact" move as you'll find. Either guy probably won't get more than 5 minutes every few games. Neither guy impresses me. Brewer's defense is not great. It's slightly good, I guess. And his ball-handling is pretty bad for a PG.

With Penny out it does matter. Brewer's defense is far better than Moochie's offense. Moochie doesn't play defense period. Brewer can't shoot, but his offense is better than Moochie's defense. Neiter ought to play unless there's an emergency, but right now with Penny out, there is an emergency, and Brewer ought to be one active.

Basically got to agree with Bonn.
I like Brewer more, but having Moochie out there over him doesn't bother too much.
I just thought it would have made more sense to put a guy like Bruno on the IL, since it doesn't look like he will be recieving minutes anytime soon.
I REALLY don't think having Moochie playing instead of Brewer is going to make a difference in our W/L totals, Brewer IMO is just more exciting.

The team probably trusts Moochie more out on the floor now that the backup PG might get some playing time (since Penny is on the shelf). However...I've seen nothing from Brewer that would make me think he'd make big mistakes out there and he certainly is a better defender. Mooch can get hot offensively (one in a blue moon), and can be a creative ball handler...that's about it though.
