Now that we've had a month to see them play, who would you have picked with the #1 pick?

I'd say Howard. He's playing at least as well as Okafor and he's younger. I think he's also more athletic with more upside.

Luol Deng was worthy of the #3 pick!

I agree with you for the same reasons. Im even very surprised that Howard is playing that good even though he is the #1 pick. I thought he would struggle in the beginning, but he is doing great things for the Magic and he may have a lot more upside than Okafor.
Still, Okafor is playing nice.

But if you ask me who would I want in the Knicks, I'd say ANYONE OF THOSE TWO!!!!!

I think both of these two player are capable of putting up big numbers-- 20/10 type stats look like they're just around the corner for both of them.

Okafor will probably settle in at the PF spot... whereas the ever-growing Howard will likely emerge as a dominant center in the near future-- thus more fantasy (and NBA) value.

Good points. Howard, Deng and Oakafor are going to be top players in this league. If I had the #1 pick, I'd use it on Howard, because of his upside.

i like Howard because of his age & the fact that he's still growing...both players will be awesome frontcourt players, but i like Howard's upside just a bit better.

It's actually a good question. Okafor is already great but, I think this Dwight Howard has even more potential... an amazing talent. I too would opt for Howard.

not too big on "more potential"

Ok4 does it all: defend, rebound and score in the post. Howard will problably never the the defender ok4 is

During the draft, I thought I heard alot about Emeka having back problems? That probably would have swayed my vote, but not, looking at the beginning of the season, you couldn't go wrong with either.

I too, would probably have to go with Dwight. Straight out of HS, and is a rebounding machine.

Howard looks like the real deal, but that kwame (bust thus far) thing has to weigh n lots. (\

There are more high school big guys fail than make it, and if they do it takes a few years.

Emeka was futher along and for an expansion team, that is important.

I think you draft based on needs, and draft potential when you have the luxury of doing so. Each team must be very happy with what they got.

If I had to pick, I would go Howard, but im a sucker for upside!

Before the season started, I thought Howard could possibly end up being an underachiever like Kwame has been so far. But those thoughts went away after a few weeks this year. Howard's already playing better (and on a winning team) in his first few weeks of his rookie season than Kwame has during his 4 years in the league.
