Add Kolek next to Mo. I think McCullar too, he just needs an opportunity

and we traded away an entire young starting lineup. We've been great at developing players of late.

RJ, IQ, Grimes, Obi have all found solid roles in the league. DDV, & Ihart weren't draft picks but still guys we bought low on and developed into starter caliber players on two of the best teams out west.

I mean really, we would be a playoff team with the guys we traded away.

Ihart
Obi
RJ
DDV
IQ

with Grimes off the bench.

That's a play-in team at best. More like lottery bound. iHart is the best player on that team- should tell you something. Out of 5 starters only iHart and IQ play d, the rest of them don't. IQ is hurt half the time...Nope, sorry, not buying it

Everything you have ever wanted is on the other side of fear- George Adair

I'll take those top 6 over TOR's current top 6 and TOR is on pace for 47 wins.

Kolek gives the ball to the scorers but he can struggle to get the ball over half court and isn’t a play fast PG.

This weird meme that Kolek can't get pass half-court is bananas.

You know who else has trouble getting the ball across half-court when teams apply 3/4 court pressure? Jalen Brunson

It’s a fallacy that the PG has to bring the ball up.

Brunson is playing a lot more minutes and doing it over the course of far more possessions. It is very noticeable that kolek struggles against pressure. It is my primary concern with him being in a playoff rotation and why I wanted Alvarado. Kolek is perfect in a free flowing game and he’s perfect to eat minutes throughout the season. He’s a good player overall with flaws that prevent him from being reliable. But I hope we keep him and develop him. Same with McCullar. I like the wing profile. Hukporti regressed so he is probably gone. And of course Mo D is the crown jewel of the youth movement here. He can be the missing piece. Dadiet might not be an nba player but he still has potential. I am hoping the Knicks use picks to build this group some more. I want them to target shooting and athleticism to add talent to the roster.

This is 100% true, but Kolek struggled as well against ball pressure. This has become much less of a problem since Jose has come along.

Jose isn't that good - I think he was overhyped a bit - but clearly things started to trend better once he got here. Defense surged, KAT started feasting in the second unit again like last year, and I haven't seen teams overwhelm us with ball pressure in a long time. There are downstream effects when subtle changes are made and I think we see those with Jose even if his direct impact looks minimal at times.

Jose is not unlike Clarkson in that sometimes he can inject life into the game, but sometimes he can't.

Both Jose and Kolek need to be getting minutes so you can call their numbers on a situational basis. You can try Jose and if he isn't working, you bring in Kolek.

The reality of the situation and circumstance is a little different than this though. GTA needs time with different lineups and to get into a rhythm with guys and whatnot. Knicks FO needs to see as many minutes as they can before they extend him and that'll go hand in hand with Alvarado wanting minutes to prove himself.

Kolek ain't going nowhere and he is under contract for 2 more years and just needs to clean up a few things to prove himself too and he got time for that. He will be a spot fill in case of emergency is my guess.
