Knicks have a 2 game lead in first place
They are on pace to win 47 games
Still havent had Houston play one minute
Might as well have TT not play one minute
Have young guys playing key roles
are 6-1 at home
Have played the hardest part of their schedule

I say, if someone told us that last year, when we had eisly at pg & spoon at PF, everybody would have signed.

so far so good. the team is really making some strides. there are nice positives and some bad negatives. but this team is a work in progress and i like what i'm seeing so far.

now, december's schedule is BRUTAL. if we're still over .500 after this month, then this team would really be cooking.

They may have played the hardest part of there schedule, but it's early and teams that may look horrible now and have a way of pulling it together, and visa versa.

We played GS last year sometimes in dec, there record at the time was 16-7, they never made the playoffs. Miami's team last year was proof of how quickly things can change. I have no doubt in my mind this team will be leathal with H2O, and a focus TT. Barring any major injuries ( a sesaos like the nets had when kidd first came to NJ, not one major injury) we can fight for the eastern conference title.

Call me crazy, but if houston is any thing like he was prior, it will be hard to stop 2 penetrating guards (jc, sm) who almost mirror each other.

Yeah that is all good. Plus, from a purely subjective perspective, I have been EXCITED about the Knicks since Isiah and Marbury arrived. For the previous 2 years or so I had been DEPRESSED about the Knicks. I'm loving this feeling and this excitement about the team. The last few games in particular have been a blast. That's a lot of what I'm looking for from my basketball addiction.

dj, I think that Dec schedule is pretty favorable. Most of the tougher matchups are at home and you have some pretty easy looking road wins in there (Cha, NO, NJ and we always play well in Phili). Personally I'm VERY excited about seeing teams like Denver, Det, Utah and Min come to the Garden. I think this team can win those games.

it's just the new york fan thing that's keeping me from being a true believer of this team. i still keep thinking that we're not as good as we're playing due to years of layden conditioning. it's like pavlov dog's or something.

but i agree, we have some road games that should be wins:

cha, no, nj

phi, bos and orl will be tough but we do historically play well there.

and those home games are great tests to see how good we really are. i also agree we can win a bunch of those home games b/c i think this team is really starting to play well at home (overcoming bad defense early in games). but those home games will be tough, each and every one except charlotte.

it really is exciting being able to look at the schedule and actually expect us to win some games now.

Im excited about the progress the Knicks are making but Im still waiting for them to make a few more moves (not many) until they can be considered serious championship contenders. But for the most part I like what I see so far.

This season is an important step to getting to the finals but next year when Isiah has expiring contracts to work with can mean the difference between being an average or an elite team in the following 2-3 years IMO.

If we can go through december, we'll make some noise. cause the more our guys will play together, the better they'll play.

they're shking the "looser" sticker we have on the back right now. if we start winning a few in a roll, or maybe a few 4 games streak, medias will talk about us, crowd will come to the garden rooting for a win badly.

players will get pumped, and city will carry them.

My guess is as long as houston won't be back (and plays well), we won't be able to know exaclty what we're worth.

whoa.. kwazi, I was just talking about being a good team, not about winning a title. I think we are making some nice strides but that could all go away with a losing streak or a sprained ankle to a key player. The upside is of course that TT has been awfull and you havent gotten anything from Houston, so we still have some bullets in the gun we havent even fired.

Houston really excites me.. I cant wait to see the impact a shooter has on this squad.

I know you were fishmike,I was looking at the big picture. As far as december and beyond goes I believe TT is the X factor here.If he can get back to the numbers he put up last season and like you said barring injuries, the Knicks can move up the east.My only real concern is Lenny keeping them focused.

It will be nice to have Houston back now to go against the elite teams but he will probably need some time to get into a rhythm, especially since he is coming off the bench. If he is healthy by the time the playoffs come around then I believe we have a good chance of surprising some teams that are ahead of us in the rankings.

Knicks have a 2 game lead in first place

are 6-1 at home

We gotta make teams fear the Garden, and eventually, the Knicks in general. A lot of bright spots so far this season. Can't wait to see what else unfolds.

I agree.... people "like" the garden. I remember when Jason Kidd scored 42 at the garden.... DAMN!!! We have to eleminate the like and bring back the hate.... i mean fans can love the garden and the knicks can too. But we have 2 make the opponent team fear our home court... you know what i mean
Marbury is finally home at MSG!
