If we win a Championship with Towns, we will need certain things from him. Letting it fly from the three point land every time and driving into traffic throwing up some wild stuff at the hoop isn't it. Although that's has been Towns so far in his career. What do we need from him? To become the best blue collar guy this league has ever seen. And Towns has the talent to do it. He can get 20 boards and 5 assists while not fouling. That would put us over the edge. He will still get his points. He is still a mismatch like all day every day. Just don't need to force it. Every assist is points on the board. 2,3 points on the board. That's huge. If we can get him into this mindset we will get the best version of Towns anyone has ever seen

I agree. He doesn’t need to be an elite scorer all the time. He needs to be an elite floor spacer and rebounder first. Hold up defensively. Just compete. His presence still commands a lot of attention when he’s not scoring. He can just grow into the complimentary piece we need him to be.

Team to win a championship needs Kat to play more D and cut out the cut out the fouls. We need the bench to excel in their rolls with Deuce Mitch, Shamet, Kolek and Diawara playing hard defense and moving the ball consistently.

Yes, KAT needs to lead the league in rebounding and prioritize his defensive responsibilities and accept that he will not be the focus of the offense every night.

Prioritize KAT's scoring based on match-ups mostly and work out a better set of PnR strategies run by Brunson to get KAT in motion and less of the dump passes to KAT at the top of the key.

KAT should only be dribbling the ball a couple of times before he's in position to shoot. There is too much emphasis on him going North to South all by himself with all of the drama of him barreling into the paint with three defenders draped all over him. This is unnecessary and it is up to the coaching staff to rectify, because left to their own devices Brunson and KAT will not fix this.

If our chip is based on an old dog learning new tricks? Trade him. He’s not going to be happy playing a Popeye jones role. And Leon will say, “I can trade for a role player to give me that impact for a fraction of the cost “

That's the conundrum. KAT's arrested development emotionally doesn't look like he can change his stripes on a long-term basis.

A game here and there he may act on feedback, but he's pretty reliably going to revert back to his tendencies.

All songs with cowbell are #1.

All songs without cowbell should be erased from history.

What it takes? 2 things:

1. Score more points than the opponent.
2. Win the last game of the NBA playoffs.

If you listen to the drumming on Motley Crue's " Live Wire " near the end of that song Tommy Lee has some fun with a cowbell and that heavy metal song also has a funky disco break. Know the song ? If not give it a listen

Top 3 offense and top 10 defense, with a death lineup closing out games defensively (like we saw last playoffs frequently in tight games when making O/D substitution).

KAT needs to be lights out from 3 again. Mikal and OG need to be locked in. And Mitch needs to be the guy who can swing games all by himself. All of those things occurring at the right time and this team can make a run and beat anyone.

We’re clearly missing the toughness and edge that iHart and DDV brought.

The group is good enough, but Leon needs to nail an in-season trade for physicality — Alvarado fits, or another big who can bang, protect our guys, and isn’t afraid to commit a hard foul when someone takes a shot at Towns or Brunson.

OG is the key. We can’t have 8-point nights where he disappears. He has to be aggressive and physically impose his will inside every game.

And Shamet has to be a real weapon — 3+ threes a night in the playoffs. I’d start him to keep the firepower high, with Hart, Mitch, and Deuce anchoring the second unit. If Alvarado is here then you start Deuce.
